I am sorry guys but i am very concerned that alot of peole are saying things like, Your dog can get heart worm form eating choclate from drinking to much milk and the list goes on.
This is ridiculous and i am going to settle the Heart Worm myth. once and for all.
An infected mosquito that bites your dog or your cat takes around 6 months for the Microfilaria (or baby worm) to travel the body and rest in the heart whereby it becomes an adult worm. It then sheds more Microfilaria into the bloodsteam where by that will travel and end up back in the heart or lungs and thus becomming a mature adult worm as well also ready for having more worms. And so the cycle goes on.
The reason why it picks the heart is that is where the largest source of blood is.
Your animal generally dies from Heart Failure thus as a result. It can be avoided by using monthly tablets or chews you get from the vet. As this kills of the microfilaria in the blood stream if the dog/cat has been infected before a prob.

I am in the process of being a foster parent. I have one step left, and it's about my dog. He is a 2 year old pitbull. He loves people, children and other dogs. Every time he see's someone or another dog he wags his tail and wants to play. He is a hyper dog, and very energetic. Do you think the state will reject me just because of that?

my 8 m/o male chiwawa died from eating ol'roy and price chopper recalled food. i owe almost $6000 in vet bills because it also efected my 4 yr old preg. chiwawa and my male dorkie.

very sad and am stuggling financially. i have lost my baby boy and his litter. my female chiwawa will prob. lose her litter and she was very sick.

i want to sue menu food company for $30000 for loss of my pet and for vet bills (over $6000, $6474.25 exact) and for going thru what i did (seeinng my babyies so sick, Cale dying, so forth and so on).

do i have a case or not?
can u help me and give me some advice on what i should do?

My lab will be a yr the end of this month. We got him fixed back in Sept. I thought getting them fixed meant they didn't hump anymore. He doesn't really try to hump us but like if someone comes over he doesn't see often he will try and hump them
Is this normal? Is he just excited??

I left some super glue in a bag on the floor after an art project and my dog got ahold of it while I was at work today. It was a very small tube that was almost empty and she only chewed off the bottom but I'm still worried. She seems fine but i'm worried about the side effects it may have.

my 1 yr aussie pup is bloodshot in his right eye. i had to remove a metal collar because it was too tight... and while i was taking it off him it choked him for like a minute.... but that was over a month ago.

my chihuahua had bloodshot eye like that and it turned out to be a loose tooth from cavities. and it went away after his tooth was removed.

but i dont know what is wrong with the pup... everything looks ok... so does he need to go to vet??????

I bought my puppy 15 months ago at a pound (when he was 4 mo) and at the time he recieved his first rabies shot. I have not had a dog before but I was told he needs another one. Do i really need to?? He is not in company with other dogs. Is it too late to give him one if he does need it???
