Dogs do have belly buttons. What do you think kept them alive when they were in their mothers womb? If you look on a dogs underside, closer to the hind legs and a dog that doesn't have too much hair, you will see a little tiny scar, about 1/2 an inch, that is the belly button.

Cool, huh?

Hi there yes Dogs do have a belly button it is generally flat and you cannot see it. If you have a female and she is spayed on the mid-line you would probably see it then.
I just wanted to correct the person who said about the umbilical hernia causing cancer.
This is the most untrue thing i have heard. It will not cause cancer it can however get bigger and cause organ strangulation in a severe case but not cancer.

I bet alot of people have wondered this very question

Dog's do have belly buttons where they were attached by the umbilical cord, They just don't have inny or outty like people do. They are just a flat little spot. If you look really really closely you'll find it.

I just thought of something tho.. I don't think a dog that was cloned would have a belly button.

They do! They just don't look like ours. Some do poke out a little but mostly they are flush on the stomach. some get Hernias where the belly buttons are.

They do. It's tiny flat "lump" where the umbilical cord was attached. You don't see it on most dogs because it is covered by hair but it's there.
