My mom is getting tired of how unruly and how messy our 2 golden retrievers our when left alone outside. She is thinking of getting rid of one of the dogs. What would happen to the other dog? Would it be OK not having it's sister around? (One is a boy, other one a girl). Also, will there behavior get better eventually? Because if it will, maybe we won't have to sell one.

Maybe he's just a clean dog but it gets annoying. He doesn't lick so much that his fur comes off or it bleeds. But he does it quite a bit. Maybe I don't pay him enough attention? He was abused by his previous owners as a pup. I can't figure him out. The vet has no answers. I don't think it's his food. I'm realy not sure. I do know that when I hold him he stops but even then tries to sort of lick.

Everytime we go to the dog run, he lets every male dog mount him. Then the other day I caught him listening to Cher. Can dogs really be gay?

How can I keep a male dog from peeing on everything, even my truck tires? I don't want him to rust my new rims. And does it kill flowers and bushes?

He is an 11 year old Coonhound/Great Dane mix.
The recent tainted food NOT an issue here ... he gets only dry food.
This evening when I came home there were two huge piles of vomit on the floor, then he vomited an even larger pile a bit later. It appeared to be more food than he has been fed today, but I don't know ... he hasn't had opportunity to get into any garbage or anything -- it did all appear to be his dog food. Otherwise he seems fine and normal.

Any ideas or suggestions? Should I just watch him?

What brand is best for my one year old dog. What is nutritionally the best for my dog. Purina, Pedigree, ScienceDiet are all advertised like they are the best but I've been told that they are really made out of ingredients that are not that nutritionous for your pet. So what is the best brand and where can I get it.

I have 2 cats that I have had for 3 years. Recently my boyfriends parents moved-leaving their lab mix behind and told us if you want him take him. We feel awful for the poor guy so we decided to bring him home. The dog has never been around cats in a home setting and I suspect he has chased cats before. Both my cats seem to be ok with the dog-one actually loves dogs. The dogs looks like he wants to go for the cats but he minds really well and trys hard to be good. You can tell if I wasn't there he would love to make them into chew toys so I keep him on a leash in the house and watch him like a hawk. This is getting tiresome though and I am wondering will he ever get along with them to the point I can trust him to be alone with them or not to attack them at all? Has anyone ever had any success or knowledge of this sort of thing? Suggestions very appreciated ") Oh & I should mention-I can't just put him in the backyard, I live in a REALLY hot city so he has to be inside part of the time.

I have went to 4 different vets in 2 weeks, and so far no one can explain why my dog has almost lost her life to a severe allergic reaction that almost closed her breathing passages. My dog has had blood in her urine, and her tummy is red and hot. I have done everything humanly possible and avoided any trigger for allergies, my floor and anything in her reach is spotless & chemical/dye free. She is on antibiotics but she is still passing blood, her blood test have came up normal . My mom thinks it was the tainted dog food, but is on a mild home-made diet from the vet but only a little better, also her kidneys tested normal. Her hemoglobin (red blood cells) were up. She cleared up with prednisone but they won't leave her on it, and I'm afriad she'll go into another attack. Please remember before leaving comments, I have taken her to many vets. Thank you all.

He was just 6 years old, he was a boxer and hasn't been feeling very well the past week. He just went to the vet over the weekend and they did all kinds of tests on him. Well today I came home from work early and saw him lying on the floor next to his own vomit, and I thought wow this dog is pretty sick. Then, as I was about to leave I see him trying to get up on the sofa and it sounded like he was going to throw up again so I left... I didn't think he was THAT sick because he's thrown up before. Well a couple hours later I get a call from work from my dad telling me that hes dead... and now I feel like this is my fault and I could have saved him, because I was there and I didn't do anything and I feel so awful and of all days I had come home early from work to take a break the day my dog needed my help and I just ignored him. I dont think Im going to get over this at all he was a really friendly dog and they still dont know how he died... any advice I would greatly appreciate.

We have a 5 yr. old Sibe and she isn't housebroken. We adopted her when she was 2. She was abused, then rescued, placed in one foster home and then had to be transferred because of fighting with another dog, then we adopoted her. Needless to say there are some issues. She wasn't well socialized, but she immediately took to my husband and I. We adopoted her under the assumption that she was housebroken. She's not. We have tried so many differnt ways of trying to housebreak her, and we're at our wit's end! We love her to death, but I'm getting tired of having to clean the carpets. She does seem to go through phases of when she'll piddle on the carpets, but its still annoying.

Please help!!
