Usually puppies have to go poop almost immediately after eating, within 5 minutes if you want to avoid an accident. In one end and out the other!!

Believe it or not puppies go to the bathroom on a schedule, it not just a random thing. Their bodies automatically eliminate whenever the gastrocolic reflex is triggered. Stretching of the stomach when the little ones eat triggers the reflex. As puppies get older they are able to overide the reflex and control when they eliminate.
Somewhere between 5 mins-1 hr after eating is when pups will go to the bathroom. About 5-10 mins BEFORE you know they probably have to go - start with 15 min- 30 minutes after eating, take her outside. When she eliminates tell her "good potty!!!"
Each dog's body is different so it may take you a few observations and trial and errors to get more precise. Make a chart and enter time feeding/time of elimination--pee & poops. Soon you will know her bathroom schedule.
Your pup will sniff and circle about 3 seconds before "the act." Whenever you see her sniff and circle outside, tell her to "go potty" and praise her when she does it. Eventually saying "go potty" will be her cue to do it.
You should have a special spot where you take her to do business every time. Take your pup out every two hours throughout the day. If she doesn't go, put her back in crate and try again in 20 minutes (don't be mad at her, she won't know why--don't be mad at yourself either, it's just a schedule thing--you will learn). Eventually you'll find out what her schedule is. It might be she can hold for 3-4 hours.
Take the pup out first thing in the a.m. at the same time, and just before bedtime at the same time each eve.
In the house if you have some mistakes, use 50/50 white vinegar water in a spray bottle to disinfect and remove the urine-amonia smell. Spray and press for carpet, wipe for hardsurfaces.
If your pup makes a mistake, it's your fault, you haven't charted her automatic trigger times--so don't show your temper, don't rub her nose in it.
If you are not specifically paying attention to your pup (playing with her and *always* being observant of the sniff and circle routine), she should be in her crate. I'd say in the evening before 7pm is the last time to drink water for the night.
Best wishes for successful charting of her bodily functions. After a week or two of extreme watching, you should have a good routine established.

The 15 minute reference also has to do with how many times you are feeding her in a day. In 15 minutes she is not pooping the food she just ate, she is pooping the food she ate before. Dogs have a very simple digestive system, unlike we do as humans.
I would suggest you take her for a walk 15 minutes after she has eaten. The activity will help move the food along and she will probably poop while you are on the walk.
There are many many sites out there with tips and tricks for potty training. Bottom line you have to be consistant in your schedule, your praise techniques and you have to find what works for your dog.
Good Luck

If you take you're dog out every hr. on the hr, you should have trained her fast but, there is a very good way for obstinate ones. Consistency is every thing and repetition as well . All Dogs have playtime's/worktime's (if applicable) and"POTTY TIMES". A good way is, to use two different leashes, one for PLAY TIME and the other for POTTY TIME. With the potty time leash, it's of the most importance that you take her to the same place to do her/his business. (create a potty place she seems to favor). Be sure that you also put as much into the PLAY TIME, that is how she learns the difference especially if, after she's done her business, you take off that LEASH AND either CHANGE LEASH TO THE PLAY ONE, OR LEAVE OFF AND THEN PLAY WITH HER.
She'll get the message for all dogs like to play or make a fuss over after doing what's expected of them.
CONSISTENT, CONSISTENT, REPETITIONE, REPETITONE!!

The best way to house train a pup is on command, take pup out after sleep food and play and every half hour in between When you take pup out you must stay with it and command him to go to the toilet use any word you like ( be clean, wee wee) it doesn't matter what so long as all the family use it. You'll find your pup soon gets the idea of what you want .Always give lots of praise when he goes. You wouldn't think to train your pup to sit without a command, and it's just the same teaching him to toilet out side

Each dog is different. My puppy doesn't poop right away after her meal. She tends to want to go outside to potty about an hour after she eats. We learned this through trial and error. Take her out at different times and see what she does poop. Could be 30 minutes later, an hour later, or maybe a couple hours later.

in the adventure that your little one is nursing then she could be nursing 10-12 instances in a 24 hour era and approximately 140minutes in a 24 hour era. If she isn't nursing this a lot (which nursing each 4 hours in simple terms makes up for six feedings) then i may be in simple terms slightly worried. She ought to be dealing with a growth spurt - some toddlers devour greater and a few toddlers devour much less. If it keeps over some 5 day era then i might take her in to get her weight checked. there's a distinction between a breastfeed little one and a formula little one. it truly is favourite for a formula feed little one to bypass 3-4 hours between eating. in case you have the different questions approximately breastfeeding you may digital mail me every time

Shih tzu -- especially female's are not the easiest to potty train...they are extremely private about pooping...they need to a lot of grass and a lot of privacy. You need to walk her as well for the activity to get the digestive track moving...they learn eventually, but you need a lot of patience...she is still a baby and will be until 1 year.

Once she has had her injections then it will get easier, Every time she wee,s or craps then put her straight out, leave her for a few mins then let her back in. This will take a little time but she will get there as long as you are persistant.

You can't be given any specific time for your puppy to do her business, and don't try to Rush so then she can finish her business. If you take her out side often she will learn that she is going out and start trying to hold it.
