In my profession, I've heard some crazy ones. Here are mine, whats yours?

A friend of mine actually thought that in Mexico there are wild packs of chihuahuas that were able to bring down horses. He truly believed this. I laughed for hours...

When I first met my husband, we argrued for months over the fact that he had a friend who was a "breeder" of pit bulls. This guy had told him he bred a special bloodline of pitbulls who had two rows of teeth, like a shark. I have had other people tell me this as well.

I ran across this on a forum for Husky owners, do not use this food but thought I would try to inform anyone who does
Beneful Dog Food is Suspected of Causing Sickness and Deaths

HEALTH ALERT! .....

Discontinue use of Beneful until this is resolved!

Multiple Reports We have received multiple reports of dogs becoming sick or dying after eating Beneful dog food. The first reports were placed in our new forum and was overlooked by DoggyBling.com staff until we received direct emails last week and then another today.

After speaking on the phone with the lady who emailed us today, we feel that there is sufficient cause for alarm. Dog lovers make a lot of effort to take good care of their dogs and will want to know if they are feeding them something that could be harmful. Most of the alerts by email, forum and phone cited Beneful dog food that was purchased at Wal Mart around Christmas of 2006.

I have a 3.5 month cocker spaniel that ever since I got him (about 2 months ago) I have brought him to work with me everyday. Well he is a little more active now and dosen't sleep all day like he used to.. so it is time for me to start leaving him at home. I am going to start this tomorrow and would like any tips. He is for the most part house trained. We have used kennell training. Should I leave him in his kennel or should I leave him in our kitchen (which I can block off from the rest of the house) and if i do that should I leave something on the floor hoping he will go bathroom on a newspaper or something? I am not really looking forward to leaving him home all day alone but I am kind of in a rough spot here. Any help would be great

I just got a new chihuahua that is about 5-months old. She loves to play with the shih tzu, but my shih tzu is extremely unfriendly (growls and barks) towards her (yet she is very scared of the chihuahua). This is the second time my shih tzu has ever been exposed to another dog. I wonder if it is because I haven't exposed her to other dogs that she's become like this. Is it too late for her to get along with other dogs? How can I get her and the chihuahua to get along?

We just adopted a 10 wk. old shepherd/lab mix and I don't think she's been around people a whole lot. We have her in a crate while we are at work and let her out when we get home and then take her outside to potty. The problem is everytime we approach her or pick her up she squats and pees all over the floor. Is this something she will outgrow or is it her breed? She is absolutely adorable and playful and we love her to pieces but the hubby and I are going to have a hard time if this is a permanent thing.

My 1 year old female boxer just chews and chews on her feet until they bleed. I can understand cleaning themselves, but chewing until they bleed that doesn't make sense. I have another boxer and she doesen't chew on her feet.

This question is in the "dog" section because that's where I spend most of my time. It's therefore where I notice a lot of people who seem to like their thoughts and ideas justified.

I've also posted it in the "Yahoo Answers" category.

Hopefully that should answer the inevitable question: "why is this question in the 'dog' category?".

When I give my dog a bath should I use lukewarm water? I have to give my JRT a bath twice a week with a medicated shampoo because my poor little one has mites. I always wonder if she is comfortable, and if the water is too cold or too hot. Thanks

An experienced breeder friend of mine bred one of his girls. She was a very healthy (checked out by the vet before breeding), two-year old female having her first litter. The pregnancy proceeded normally with no signs of trouble. She went into labor and simply dropped dead (later diagnosed with heart failure). Her owner had to CUT HIS PRECIOUS DOG OPEN WITH A KITCHEN KNIFE to save the babies, then had to spend weeks caring for the orphans around the clock.

While most dog pregnancies go smoothly, if you are not prepared to deal with a scenario like this you should not be breeding. It CAN happen to YOU.
