My dog does the same thing with greenies! I think your dog does this because he likes the bones a lot and wants to hide them to make sure nobody else gets them. I know how you feel..I've in the past found greenies under cushions in sofas, under beds/chairs ect. It's pretty funny. haha

Thats hilairous.
I've heard stories about dogs digging holes in the back yard and hiding thier raw hides. This lady even told me that she's gone through 7 water bowls. The dog will use it for a while then bury it.
But unfortunately I don't know the answer.

She is, like someone said, hiding them from scavengers. Our dogs share 99.8% of their DNA with wolves, and behave exactly like wolves. They think like wolves, they pack like wolves, many hunt like wolves if given the opportunity...
My puppy kill squirrels and mice pretty regularly, and when he's full, he will bury whatever is left. They are raw diet dogs, complete prey model, so they get whole rabbit sometimes when it's cheap.
So one day, I think it was back in July or August, I'm sitting on my deck with a friend of mine (a vegetarian, no less), and my husband. Mind you, I hadn't given the dogs rabbit in a week. Here comes Puppy, all 100 pounds of him, trotting onto the deck all proud of himself and before any of us could react, he lay down under the table with a rabbit pelt, still with the head and a rear leg attached, all covered with larva. He was so happy to just lick all of that protein off that carcass.
I can't describe the scene that commenced, but looking back, it was really really really funny.
Anyhow, your dog is hiding greenies from scavengers, and I'll bet you she's hoping that she finds something tastier when she comes back.
Greenies, by the way, have caused severe obstructions. You may want to think about not using them anymore.

She's doing the equivalent of burying a food treat. Many dogs still bury their food or treats, especially in multi-dog households. It's a behavior that evolved from wild dogs' need to keep their food hidden from other scavengers. A lot of dogs still have traces of wild dog instinctual behavior, like turning around several times in a space before lying down. It serves no real purpose now because they live indoors, but it's etched into their little brains, so they still do it.

confident, a lot. I stay in a very distant area of SE AZ (Portal) and that i the two see or right here them daily and nightly (I even howl with them if the temper strikes me). For the main area rural Coyotes are no longer a situation. They particularly consume rodents and snakes yet are curious, as are maximum canines, approximately human beings. many times a noisy holler or banging will frighten them off. in spite of the undeniable fact that, they're at risk of rabies and if a Coyote insists on coming closer quite than working away it would be seen rabid and eradicated (shot). city Coyotes are yet another rely altogether. lots of them have lost there concern of guy and heavily isn't easily deterred by using him. additionally, they're going to prey upon what's least difficult to capture. many cases this could be smaller canines and cats. they are able to alter right into a nuisance in cities. that's probable superb to call animal administration if one is observed in the city. usual, Coyotes should not be seen feasible. confident, they're predators, only like guy, yet they help save vermin at bay and adapt to new environment's greater valuable than the different animal i understand. bear in ideas, my pal, you're 8 cases their length, have a much better ideas, and have opposable thumbs. If a trifling Coyote scares you, then you quite quite should not, ever bypass away your place...to many different, some distance worse, issues lurk approximately our planet.

She has those greenies around the house because she probably hates them or she likes them so much she's saving up.One more reason can be that she thinks someone else will take them away from her.

You're probably over feeding her and she is storing them for a rainy day.
I had a cat that used to go around the house every Easter.
I'd hide chocolate balls around for the kids and she'd be taken them and hiding them for herself.
One day we happened to move a chair in the living room (getting the carpets shampooed) and found over 50 of them.

Like many have said here, they still have that "instinct" of hiding/burying food like wild animals. Your dog also does this because it has already stuffed itself, and it hides its bones to go back to them when it gets hungry again.

She wants to feel like it's her house too. She is a little ratpacker like my pugs. They just want their space and a few secrets of their own. And she wants to store some up for "later". I think it's precious, bless her heart!

Dogs like to hide things...watch her and don't move the treats. One day she will pull one out and enjoy it!
