dogs hear sounds rather than words so choose a name that has a distinct sound - two sylablles are best. Such as "marley", "bruno", "buckley", "buddy", "chester", etc. Also choose a name that is different sounding than any other pets you may have or anybody else in the house. If your childs name is Charlie then you don't want to name your dog "marley"

You won't believe this because I didn't myself, but I went to Yahoo and Google Search and put in Dog Names. they had so many, and I could pick male or female names for every animal under the sun. Just keep narrowing it down. When I finally had one I thought was unique and rare, I called my Vet's receptionist and she looked that name up in their computerI (it's a big veterinary) to see how many they treated with that name. When she said they only had one and it was a cat, I took it for my new pug!!! Enjoy him!

My brother was going to name his dog - Di Oh Gi

As in - d - o - g. Corny but it got a lot of complents. The vet particularly loves it.

Maybe something like Tonka, Tank or Dozer.
