My family is looking to install a fence around our yard. Originally we planned for a privacy fence, but they are really pricey. We have a rottweiler puppy and I am unsure if a split rail fence with the wire on one side will keep her in when she is full grown. The fence would be about 4 feet tall. I would hate to install the split rail and find out in a few months we have to go back and do the privacy fence anyway.

Can someone please tell me why Border Terriers like to sing. Is it because they are unhappy or do they do it because they enjoy it?

We were at a dark park, and well the other dog owner-and my dog were playing. I thought they were fine, until the other dog teeth started showing, my dog didnt' yelp. So we thought she was fine. Then a guy noticed that she had been bitten or so..it is very very small and is a bit red. I don't know if a vet would be the best thing. I would think that an ointment or something would do it? help..

He came home from the vet yesterday (he was neutered) but I didn't see it then, and they didn't say anything about it. Is there a reason they would shave his leg? If not, is there a reason for this?

I'm looking into adopting a doberman pincher that is 3yrs old. When i saw him he looked very calm. They said that he is house trained and knows some commands. I've always had dogs since they were puppies and have been able to train them very well. My fear is that when I try to train him he will not like it and snap. Can someone please guide me?

I just got a cute little puggle about 3 months ago. Once we got her we started potty training her right away, and she did great. She peed on the paper by the door and pretty soon she was even going to the door when she had to go out!

But things started getting bad when we let her go wherever she wanted. She followed us upstairs to our rooms or down in the basement and began to pee or poop on the floor again. We bought a little baby door thing to keep her from going upstairs, but now she doesnt go to the door to go outside at all and usually pees or poos wherever she is, even on her bed. We usually smack her butt a few times and yell 'no' at her but she continues to do it.

What should I do?

My dog (alaskan malamute) keeps shaking his head and leaning it (his head) to the right. I checked his ears for a foul odor or any discharge and there doesn't appear to be any sign of infection or mites. His temperment is off too - anyone have any suggestions?

What are some good dogs for first-time owners. We want a dog that is good with strangers and children. Also we want a dog that does not shed a lot. We don't want the dog to be too big. Which breed is best for us?

I was just wondering what to do about my sweet dog. Ever since my baby was born,18 months ago....my dog howls a high pitch awful cry every time the baby cries. I thought at first it was because my son's cry was hurting our dog's ears...but that was not it because he will howl from down stairs when our son is up stairs with the door closed. It is driving us crazy, we do not know how to get our dog to stop.Between our son crying and the dog howling, you can imagine our state of mind! Does anyone have some ideas in what we could do to get our dog to stop howling and why he is doing it. He even howls when our son is just fussing!

Im gutted i dont want to seem over dramatic. But i give him flea drops on time every month, he gets regular baths so why has he gotten fleas! I buy (what i thought was good stuff) from the pet shop. And when i realised that every time you bathed him the effects of the drops where off i bought him a flea collar. Hes only had it on a week, but today i saw 1 flea! So i took him straight the vet were they gave me some stronger flea drops and some de-wormers!
Why have all other treatments failed, when they cost me good money i feel really cheated! Ill only ever buy from the vet again!

They (boy and girl Jindo's) just turned a year old a coulpe of weeks ago and before that they didn't want a whole lot to do with me they were always playing with eachother and didn't like to be held. Now they wont leave me alone they have to be sitting on each side of me if i pet one the other will get crazy jelouse and jump on me and bite the other and if i get up and leave the room they follow if i don't stand in the kitchen with them they won't eat, when i leave they cry. Before they could give a crap less where i was or what i did. What could bring on this sudden seperation/attention need that they can't seem to fill?

I have been using it since 2 days. He initially made a mess out of it to remove it. Then he is ok. But even now , immediately after he comes back home after a walk with me, he struggles to ward it off. He stills does nt like it to be on him.
How shud i keep him with the haltie ( gentle leader) ?
Shud i remove it after every walk? Or can i tighten it to keep it on him oermenently till his pulling is stopped completely?
