I work in a vet clinic and we recently had a dog come in with a slipped disc in his back. The surgery is going to cost 3000.00 so we opted to adopt him because his parents were going to put him to sleep. Do you know any foundations that will donate money towards this type of cause? We're trying to raise as much as possible to ensure the dog gets the surgery he needs!

I have recently taken in a Yellow Lab who sheds like no other! I am constantly chasing the fur...is there a better way to clean it? I had her groomed already. I just can't keep up with the piles of fur everywhere!

My 3.4 lb yorkie was taken into Petsmart for the second time this past week. She did not see the same groomer as she did the first time, but I figured it was good to try new people the first few times. The first groomer said Elsa was very patient and a GREAT dog to work with while grooming.

This past Sunday after we dropped Elsa off we got a phone call stating they were taking her to the emergency room. They had to put her to sleep and sew up a blood vessel they had cut through. I was completly upset and just wanted to make sure my dog was okay, and at that time when I met the manager of the store did not say anything to her because I wanted to see my dog.

After her cast came off her ear, we saw that there was a piece of it now missing off the top corner. They couldn't save the piece that the groomer had cut off,so now she has an ear that looks a little funny. Now, I am glad that my little baby is okay, but I didn't buy a dog with a messed up ear? What to do?

I have a 3 year old chihuahua, and am planning on having children in the next few years. Does anyone have young kids and a chi? How can I make this work? I have heard many people say that chihuahuas don't like children, but I can't just get rid of my dog!

I have a10 month old Golden Retreiver (whos quite thin, although he gets dry food anytime).

I just started Pedigree Puppy dry food (and at night "mixture of can & dry food") he's loving it. The vet said Pedigree isn't that good.

But I'm trying to get him fatter and healthier ... he seems to like pedigree more than the previous food .. What to do?

My 3 year old golden stays outside in freezing temps during the winter months, temps occasionally down to single digits at night. She has an insulated dog house on our deck, and is always provided fresh unfrozen water. She is never tied up and has a large fenced in back yard. She is in very good health, gets alot of attention and exercise and sees the vet regularly. However i have recieved several complaints from neighbors "concerned about my dog." I realize there is a large number of people who have the no dogs outside in cold belief but personally i see no reason that a breed such as a golden retriever cannot stay outside in these temperatures. ?

I have just adopted a rescue dog, and so his nerves are really high. We have found a couple of treats that the foster parents fed him, which are pup corn and peanut butter treats, but we were wanting any suggestions on what other treats anyone would recommend that would not upset his stomach? Thanks

My husband gave him a chocolate cookie which we soon learned did not agree well with the dog. He keeps going under my desk and crapping, and he is let out at least 6 times a day. He usually lets us know if he needs to go out. he will come in and sit in front of us and stare at us. But he hasn't been doing that, the only time we see him is after he pooed, with his tail between his legs. I'm so sick of him crapping, how do I get the crap out of the carpet so he stops going in the same spot? I am at my whits ends with this dog. HELP!!!!!

I was recently involed in a scam for a puppy from Nigeria. I am out $250.00 for shipping, but that is ok because I can let you know how not to get scamed. I gave the information to the seller and I told her what puppy I wanted and then I set up another email address through yahoo and I told the person that I was given her email by a friend reguarding a puppy. The same puppy I had recently said I wanted and paid shipping on she was selling to me on the other email that I had. I suggest you do this before sending money for shipping. I hope this will help you and get us to stop giving money for another county to survive when we have people here who need help too.

I just bought an 8 month old Rottweiler and would like some pro advise on the proper way to approach her and introduce her to our home where I also have a female German Shepherd the same age. Should I take her for a walk first to to establish dominance or alpha before I take her home? Please advise me.
