I was recently involed in a scam for a puppy from Nigeria. I am out $250.00 for shipping, but that is ok because I can let you know how not to get scamed. I gave the information to the seller and I told her what puppy I wanted and then I set up another email address through yahoo and I told the person that I was given her email by a friend reguarding a puppy. The same puppy I had recently said I wanted and paid shipping on she was selling to me on the other email that I had. I suggest you do this before sending money for shipping. I hope this will help you and get us to stop giving money for another county to survive when we have people here who need help too.

Good to know. Although if you did receive a puppy from Nigeria it would probably be lazy and steal your slippers.

Rule number one: no transaction with Nigeria involving money or the Internet.

Rule number two: no transaction with Nigeria involving money or the Internet.

Do I need to the you what rule number 3 is?

If you want to keep doing this, I have a very beautiful bridge over the San-Francisco bay that I can sell you for a very fair price.

I am amazed that in 2007, people still fall for all those Nigerian scams

Sigh - I feel bad for ya.
No offense - but it amazes me that people fall for this sort of thing - but you are not alone. People fall for it all the time.
Why would you buy a puppy from Nigeria???? Are they known for their high quality puppies?
I constantly get emails from people wanting to "buy" one of my puppies - even though I don't advertise that I have puppies for sale.
They of course want to send me a check to deposit & etc etc, etc. Don't even bother with anyone who claims to be from another country unless they are willing to fly over in person to meet with you. Whether you are buying or selling.
Even here in the states - I do not take checks for my puppies - I require CASH. If they can't come up with the cash, then they probably can't afford to properly care for the puppy anyway.
Be careful people - if it sounds the least bit dodgy - it probably is.

anyone who would arrange for the purchase of a puppy over the internet, without ever having met the dog, is an idiot. never mind the fact that the seller was from nigeria, which would have been a red flag to any thinking person. you deserved to get ripped off. it's people like you that keep scammers in the money.

Sorry you got ripped off, I was on the other side I sold one of my English Bulldogs for $1850.00 to a person that stopped paying, I finally got the money but you have to be careful on both sides. next time maybe you should go to a local breeder so you can actually see the pups, those people probably didn't even have puppies, good luck I hope you find the dog you want,

i had the same thing happen, but I didn't send the money. I told her what city i was in, and they told me they were in another province(im in canada). then i set up another e-mail account and told her i was in the states, and sje wrote back that she was in Arizona. That made it quite clear to me that it was a scam.
