I have just adopted a rescue dog, and so his nerves are really high. We have found a couple of treats that the foster parents fed him, which are pup corn and peanut butter treats, but we were wanting any suggestions on what other treats anyone would recommend that would not upset his stomach? Thanks

Old Mother Hubbard makes excellent holistic treats. We use them for our dogs. They also make Wellness Pet foods, which is also a great food. I don't know if they'll agree with him. I sure hope so! Our dogs love 'em, and they're good for them.

For chewing I suggest either non edible Nylabones or a Kong. For food treats, which should be kept to a minimum, I'd boil some chicken and cut it into small bits. There is also a chicken jerkey which has no by products or fillers available in stores for dogs.

Authority makes some good treats, so does nutro. I's stay away from the pup corn, it's not very healthy. another good chewing treat is an all natural raw bone from a local butcher.

My boys LOVE any kind of liver treats. Liver snaps, liver bites. I don't give them treats more than once a day, so I don't know if it would upset their stomach or not if given more often.

Good luck with your new pup!

Eukanuba treats are great. You can break them into smaller pieces if you are using them for training.
I would recommend that you not feed your dog Greenies. There have been many reports of Greenies causing intestinal blockages.

Buy him "ZEN PUPPY" treats. The make one called "PEACE" that will help him to relax. They are all natural and our dog loves them and he is almost 2.
