No. But i would take precations. The salt that is on the roads and sidewalks can burn a dog's feet.
petsmart sells little doggie snow boots pretty cheap. Or you could try an online store like PetEdge.com or DrsFosterandSmith.com (you may have to google the latter address)
Just keep his feet safe and dont stay out there too long!
good luck

The snow itself will not hurt your dog's feet. What generally hurts is the salt on the walkways which will cause your dogs pads to crack and split. Make sure you wipe then off occasionally when you are walking on sidewalks or roadways where salt has been used. You can also buy the little boots for your dog's feet, but they shouldn't really need them. Happy Hiking!

That depends is it -45 C outside with a windchill of say - one billion (live in Manitoba - very freaking cold) and is your dog thin coated like a whippet, Dane or grey hound?
There is nothing wrong with walking your dog in any weather as long as you take into consideration the sames things for the dog that you would for yourself. If the dog is not used to being outside in the winter you should be dressing him in a coat and 'booties. Also, dogs will let you know if it is too cold for them or when they have had enough. My dane just drags me right on back to the house after a quick pee and poo.
And yes they can get frostbite on there paw pads and other exposed skin.

if you don't put dog boots on be sure not to stay out too long. be sure to clean all the snow off between the pads of his feet when you go inside. avoid driveways or sidewalks that have been salted as this is rough on the dogs pads and can burn them and dry them out. if you walk frequently get some balm from the pet store made to put on the pads to keep the moist and intack

No, it will not sting a dogs paws like it would do our feet. They have a very coarse pad - incase you haven't noticed :) That's why they can run on asphault or go hiking and hunting. If you want to, you can buy him doggie boots (available at Gander Mountain or probably any pet shop). Your dog will walk funny in the begining however, coz they're not used to or meant to wear boots or shoes on their paws.

Absolutely not. My dog loves the snow. The pads of their feet are nothing like the skin on your hands. Your dog will be just fine.
It would be more cruel in my opinion to deprive your dog of this recreation. :P

No, a dog's feet are designed to be out in the cold. The pads on their feet keep them from getting too cold and also the fur.

your dogs feet should be ok unless the temp is way below 0 and your only on pavement. if you have alot of salt being thrown down to melt ice then when you get home dip your dogs feet in lukewarm water and wipe/ dry with a towel.

it wouldn't be considered cruel but you can buy dog boots that will protect the dogs paws and the boots can also be used in the summer to protect the dogs feet from being burnt. you can get them in all sizes at walmart petco petsmart.
