Or lack of Intelligence?

I have 2 dogs... one goes crazy barking at TV when he sees another dog there. The other one is completely indifferent. Which one is smarter? The one who KNOWS that the dog on TV isnt real and DOESNT bark or the otherone.

My bischon is 14 years old. She has suffered many illness over her life time. She diabetic, epilectic, blind from the diabeties, deaf. and I have nursed her and taken care of her through it all. I can't tell how many time she was at death's door and held on to hope that she would get better and she always did. Just this past Thanksgiving it was found that she had a compressed disc in her back. She recovered from that.
Now she has started to pace consently .
Having accidents.
Just overall being fustrated getting lost behind doors under chairs. I don't know if I am being selfish at keeping her here or is time for me to let her go. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do.

please advise

We adopted 2 Siberian Huskies from a "backyard" breeder. We were only going to take one but felt bad for the last one there. They were in tiny outdoor runs with poop and pee everywhere. All the puppies were covered in it as well. There was barely any cover from all the rain we have been having. There were rows and rows of dogs used for breeding and all different breeds. When we took them home we noticed they had extremely bad worms and were all tired and lethargic. They are better now after alot of vet visits and medicines. We also just found out our male has a zinc deficiency. We just want to know where to go to complain about this breeder. Any help would be grateful. Thanks.

Hi! I'm getting a black lab puppy. Does anyone know any good websites to look at to get more information. I've already checked out www.akc.org and www.dogbreedinfo.com. Are there any more good, informative sites about labs? Are labs easy to train?

I have a almost 1 year old cairn terrier. She is crate-trained and is in her crate to sleep at night, and while we are at work or leave the house. When sleeping at night she has a blanket and pillow and does fine with it. While she is crated during the day - whether for 5 minutes or 5 hours, she chews on any blanket that is in her crate. (she has toys in her crate also) We have gone through a number of blankets and have even left her without a blanket during the day, but I feel bad that she has to sleep on the hard plastic. Does anyone know of a good blanket or rug that is indestructible - or some other solution?

My papillon had a diarrhea accident and it's all over his backside (luckily the 'accident' happened outside and not on my rug). How do I get the poop off? It's now dried, as it happened during the night. Do I wash as normal, take him to the groomers and let them do it...ack! Help!

He has had bad hip problems for several years, he is deaf, now he will go downstairs in our house and get lost (he can also do this in our upstairs at times). He runs non stop as fast as he can in a state of panic, until he can't run anymore. Then he cannot climb the stairs back up so I have put up a baby gate at the top of the stairs. It seems he searches continually for my husband. He ran frantically out the front door a few weeks ago in a rain storm (he hates to get wet) I walked the streets looking for him. Three days later I found him. He suffers incontinence, so I am continually cleaning up his messes. It seems he has truly broken down physically and mentally. Putting him to sleep seems an option but breaks my heart. Our vet has given him tranquilizers and incontinence pills but nothing had any affect on him. Has anyone else had this happen to a pet?

I'm looking to get a dog in the near future. My wife wants a Maltese or a Maltipoo or some other type of hideous, "girly" dog that looks like a mop.

But I've lately become interested in the Boston Terrier... I've read lots of good things about them, but she remains unconvinced because she thinks their snouts are too pug-like (and she doesn't like pugs).

Could you share your personal experience with Boston Terriers if you've had one? Also, would they make good apartment dogs or partners for ~30-minute walks in a variety of weather?

recently there has been a pitbull loose in my neighborhood..i've called animal control on it three times..this dog has attacked my dog that is chained...animal control seems to not be doing their job..after the attack i called and they said they would look for the dog.even though they know who he belongs to. They go around the neighborhood once then leave. just this weekend the dog was loose saturday at 6am, then sunday at 7 am with a boxer snd then later in the day with atleast 5 other dogs..couldnt call animal control then because they dont work weekends..just had to run the dogs off..if something bad happens to my dog like a death i plan on sueing the owner of the pit, but would i also be able to sue animal control?

Both of my Schnauzers have great personalities, and I'd like to breed them together, but the male is going to be about 15-20 lbs when he is full grown, and I'm worried that he may be too big for the 10 lbs female. On the other hand, I've read that breeding a "too small" female with a larger male actually improves the breed because 10 lbs is smaller than the standard. Can anyone tell me if this will hurt my dog, or if the puppies would be about the same size during birth anyways?

I recently adopted a 9 year old min pin. Seems like a real sweet dog until he has food. I understand him being protective of his food bowl, but he gets in the trash too. If I try to repremand him for it he tries to attack and drags the trash around the house. I know he's a small dog but he looks really scary when he's like that and I have 3 kids. How do you stop that behavior?
