food, my question is ...
When do I have them vaccinated and at what age is it safe for me to sell them....Oh and how many times a day should I feed them...
One more question as for my dog.....Will the milk dry up on it's own or do I need to take her in for a special shot or something....

Thanks to everyone for your help..

I just feel so helpless with all of the things that I see on the internet. I just read that PETA is killing animals and dumping them in garbage cans in Virginia. I don't know what to do. I dontated to PETA last month but it makes me wonder where my money is going to. Is there anything that I can do to help these animals? It just breaks my heart to see things like animals being skinned alive and dogs locked up in cages for years.

I have a dog that just turned a year old. I got her from a shelter 5 months ago. When I got, I took her to the vet to get her caught up on all vacs and the usual (start preventatives and check for intestinals). At that time, I gave them her kennel card which listed everything they had given her. The vet gave her her rabies shot and said she was all caught up on her vacs.

I didnt really think anything else about it till I was going through her paperwork looking for my reminders on her vacs because I knew she needed a booster for bortadella in March. On her kennel card, it says that they never gave her her puppy shots and there is no other record for them (at least that I have been able to get a hold of). I doubt that my vet missed that because she actually put a date for a DAPP2 booster on my reminders. Should I trust my vet or go to another one and get her the shots? I know shes not a puppy anymore, but arent they kind of essential?

How do I deal with having to put down my dog of 11years. He is my son. I love him dearly. But he is in great pain. I know that he is. Do I owe it to keep him alive or do I owe it to him to keep him alive? He has a tumor on his side.

I am just venting here..the park near my house has about 10 signs stating as such. But every day that I take a walk there, I am battling dogs that run up to my dog and start something. The owners seem to think it's cute! I am trying to pull on my dog's leash and the owner says something stupid like "they are friendly!" when it is obvious that they are growling at my dog! I don't think it's fair that I am following the laws but can't even walk in the neighborhood park anymore with my dog. Plus there are children about..it seems a dangerous combination.

Does anyone else own a Cairn Terrier? What is your favorite thing about having a Cairn, and what is it's name?

I will tell my favorite thing about my Cairn: He's like a big dog in a little dog's body. He is fearles and LOVES the outdoors, swimming, hiking and camping.

Lately I have noticed that my dog seems to be congested. He snores all the time when he's asleep. When he's awake he's constantly snorting and it sounds like he needs to blow his nose.

My fiance and I just adopted a 1 year old Italian Greyhound who is not potty trained! I need some advice on training this dog. We have 2 1/2 year old Italian Greyhound and I had no problems training him. I'm just unsure about how to go about it. I just keep priasing him and rewarding him with treats when he does the right thing. He hasn't peed in the house yet, but he's pooped 3 times (we've only had him a day). Another problem is that we live in NY and it's been FREEZING lately! Please help!!

I have a lonely great Dane. We used to have 2 Great danes, and one of them passed away 2 weeks ago. Now my other great dane that is aggressive is getting lonely and desparate.

We have this huge yard, and i do let her out there, since its winter and cold she is too depressed to run around. even though we have a heated up place for her to stay.My family always lets her in whenever we are in the living room or basement ( only places she is allowed to go ). Now, my dog learned how to open doors and just destroyed half our house during one night! so we have to lock our door, else she will get in.

What do I do to calm her down?
She has become more aggressive, blue great danes are aggressive as it is. Our other great dane was very calm and never aggressive, so i dont think we are doing some thing wrong to get her like this. We give her as much attention as we can!

ps: i have visited the vet and they gave me some medicine, but it calms her down just for a bit

I work 7a.m.-5p.m. The only break in between is a lunch hour spent running my husband to work (we only have one car). He then works 1:30-9:30 and I have a time frame of about 5:30-9:00 where I could walk dogs.
Is anyone out there in this business? Any luck with evening walks? What do I need to do to get started.
Please reply if you have experience.

We have 2 male dogs ( Shepherds German ) they are brothers, that mean they never separated from each other, they're now 5 years old, but one of them always Sprays in his brother's Eating bowl or in his brother's Dog house. That happened especially during the Last year. They're staying in a fenced back yard. What's wrong with this dog? Is there any solution?? Help Plz.

My boyfriend and i are talking about getting a dog. We have done a lot of research, and we are now able to afford ALL the costs that come with a dog. The only problem is that our apartment has breed restrictions. This includes German shepherds, rotties, chows, akitas, mastiffs, dobermans, and pit bulls. Well i found my perfect dog, and he is an American bulldog mix. So i went to the landlord and asked her if an american bulldog would be okay to have. She replied by saying "Well...American bulldogs are actually pit bulls" Which is not true. So we continued talking, and she said that i can't get any dog that resembles any of the restricted breeds. And these happen to be a lot of my favorite breeds. Because of this i think we are just going to wait the 8 months until our lease is up. What are some of your favorite large breed dogs that don'e resemble these breeds? What do you like about that breed? I will still probably wait, just want to make sure i'm not missing any other great breeds.

As an American I have always made the choice of "NOT" having a Dog live with me. I hate the urine the crap & I have made the "Choice" of not having my home smell like a kennel, to say nothing for the noise and destruction they cause to home furnishings. This rule has served me well until my 8 year old son & wife begged me to buy a puppy. The only other experiences I have had is watching over family and friends dogs while they were on vacation etc, and I have only done that with the dogs within "THEIR" residence..NOT mine. So my son and wife found a puppy for only $250 and they promised to take care of him, they said it would be cheap..they said. To date: $3200 carpets, $950 pianio leg repair, $1500 couch replacement, untold back yard damage, $kitchen chair replacement, $390 training, 30 plus sleepless nights, $400 assorted items, crate, dishes, food. $400 Vet bills..and on and on.

NEVER get a Dog, it's too late for me but heed my warning!!

Now someone will say it's ME not the dog
