food, my question is ...
When do I have them vaccinated and at what age is it safe for me to sell them....Oh and how many times a day should I feed them...
One more question as for my dog.....Will the milk dry up on it's own or do I need to take her in for a special shot or something....

Thanks to everyone for your help..

You need to get them vaccinated at 6 weeks, 8 weeks, and 12 weeks. Then get them a rabies vaccine at 16 weeks.

Feed them at least twice a day at the same time each day, and let them eat as much as they want at each sitting.

You cannot legally sell the pups until they are 8 weeks old and have at least one puppy vaccination.

You don't need to do anything to help dry up the mom's milk. Let the pups continue to nurse until they're about 6 weeks old, and then start keeping them away from the mom. As soon as they stop nursing, she'll stop producing milk.

Why in the world are you breeding puppies if you know none of this?

A puppy cannot be sold until it's 8 weeks old, they need to be on milk until that point...even if it's the formulated milk that pet stores have. If you do have them switched over to food already try to stay away from feeding them canned food as it's bad for them in the long run. They need to be on dry food for puppies and you can water that down so that they are able to eat it. Just enough water to moistened the food. Your dog should be fine and will not need a special process...she will go through the birthing process on her own just fine...meaning the whole milk drying up and all. As for vacinnations I would highly recommend checking with a vet rather than asking the people on here. Your vet is your best option and safest option for the little ones. Best of luck to you and the new borns!

Fist vaccine at 6 weeks, which will also be their first deworming. Leave Momma between 8-10 weeks at which time Momma should visit the vet to be spayed. Milk will dry on it's own. Feed puppies whenever they are hungry.

Pups are ready to leave their Mamas at approximately 8 weeks, as long as they are weened (or can sustain themselves once they're without Mama), and as long as they are not having any problems going to the bathroom on their own.

As for the age the pups need to be for their first round of shots? I'm not sure. A simple call to your vet should answer that one.

As long as all of the puppies are gone (or not nursing AT ALL), Mama's milk will dry up on its own.

Enjoy your wee ones!

You can also give them shots by going to your local feed store and doing it yourself. It will save you money.

8-10 weeks in the earliest you can find new homes for them. for all these other questions, i would call your vet. glad to hear you are planning to vaccinate the pups, just please, please be careful who you home them with. so many pit bulls end up in shelters or abused. people with bad intentions are often drawn to the breed, so be careful! do home checks, get references!
