I have and Australian Cattle Dog and she always goes through the trash when we're not home. We often come home to trash all over the kitchen. What can I do to stop her? We punish her by putting her in her cage and covering it for a little while but she'll walk up to it and pull trash out again. The other night I caught her with chicken bones in her cage which I know are bad for her. People have said to use a spray but is there a spray that I could use that won't stink up the room and make people feel uncomfortable?

I like them both very much and find it hard to decide
I prefer the Havanese as they come in different colours
But i also like the Maltese as they are smaller
I want a playful, lively, affectionate dog which likes indoors

I have an Australian Cattle Dog who is about 3 years old. My father is working on the parlor (he's working on the stairs and soon the wooden floors) and he recently finished the stairs which my dog Sheba scratched up from going up and down to look out the window. Our front door has a glass window in the middle that she sits in front of and jumps up on when people walk by.Now the glass is all scratched up, which my father is pretty aggrivated about. Basically we have a problem with her scratching up everything. How can I get her to stay out of the room and off of the stairs? We've tried gates but she knocks them down with enough effort. My father is ready to drop her off at the ASPCA and that's the last anyone wants but my dad. What can I do?

Here's the thing. I have a 10 week Pomeranian who'm I absolutely adore! When I first got him 3 weeks ago, I took 2 weeks off from work to help him get aclimated to my home. During these 2 weeks, I pampered him. He'd want to get up and play at 4 AM and I'd get up and play with him (I know it's wrong and I have corrected this and have made him adjust to my schedule). I potty trained him to use Weewee pads, etc. Now this is my first week back to work and I've sectioned him off in the kitchen with loads of toys, food & water, a Kong ball, a soft blanket, his favorite teddy bear, I leave all lights on, I leave the TV on and I play some soft music in the back ground so the house is still the same but the only difference is I'm not there. My brother checks on him when his work shift allows. I leave my house around 8 AM and get home around 6 PM. When I walk in the door, it's all about him until about 12 AM (and of course I wake up early to play before I go to work). Can anyone relate? Outcome?

What is the average cost to have a litter (of your breed?)

Can you share all the expenses of breeding dogs and why each is important? (From purchasing and testing the parents to raising the pups).

Thanks.

I am a dachshund breeder, and I feel people just think I'm in it for the money. There is a difference between a Puppy Mill and a Kennel. My dogs all live inside with me. They are all treated like pets. I have 3 Dachshunds, I only use two for breeding. The other one has been fixed, but still is my pet. I also have a Puggle who had been fixed. They all see the vet regularly, and are very loved. They all sleep with my kids at night, and the puppies are all raised in my living room where they get constant effection. I plan on getting two more females, but they will be treated just as well. We even have birthday parties for my puppies. I am very picky about who I sell to. I do home visits and vet checks on all potential buyers. I have even turned buyers down because I did not feel they were right for my babies. If it weren't for us breeders, the breeds would die out, and there would only be muts. I love muts, but I also think we have an obligation to continue these breeds.

Does anyone have a boxer with acid reflux? I suspect mine has and am looking for ways that will help keep her from throwing up. She's been to the vet and passed her health exams and she is current on all shots. She appetite and behavior is normal. The vomit is not enough to dehydrate her or anything like that. She can always eat afterwards. I just don't want her esophagous damaged later on. Has anyone experienced anything similar with their own dog?

They are AKC Registered Shelties, male is 9yrs old, female is 8yrs old, they have been together all this time,so we don't want to separate them, the male is very friendly loves attention good around kids or elderly folks, the female tends to shy away from kids,if kids run in the house she will nip at their heels, like her male counter part she also loves attention, they get o excited when they know their going for a walk it hard to get their leashes on because their barking and going in circules,of coarse like most dogs they bark at any noise.which can be good at times, both are still breedable,we would like to find a good home for them.

We have a 15 year old Aussie who we rescued 3 years ago. The doorbell never used to bother him, but lately when it rings (or when he hears a similar sound on TV) he starts pacing and his body trembles for about 15-20 minutes. How can I correct this? I don't know why all of a sudden the noise makes him so terrified.
