if your dog pees in the house, i remember that you're not supposed to show them the pee... why don't you show them what they did wrong? isn't is because they won't relate it as to something that they did wrong?

My 4 year Mini Beagle has been throwing up and has diahrea for about 4 hours, but did finally hold a little water down. She was outside for a while last night, I heard her crying in her kennel, and found she was ill, with above descriptions. She is sleeping, and can bearly hold her head up, and sometimes is shaking. HELP... We live away from vets that respond on weekends....

My puppy seems to be confused. It's understandable, a small *papillon, 9wo, 3lbs 3oz, won't stand still long enough to measure height* pup in a house full of cats could easily believe she was one of them. She eats her own food once a day, though it is offered often, and doesn't eat what I feel is enough *she'll only eat maybe 1/4 cup* but every time I turn my back I hear her collar bell tinkling towards the kitchen *we have a bell on her until we get her tags. she's small, quiet, and quite the tagalong* where all four of the cats have their four seperate dishes on the floor.

The only time I have really gotten her to eat her food in a way that she seemed to want it rather than just picking at it was when I had her and her food dish in my lap, and I know that's not a great way to have her eating. It's not that she isn't hungry.

What can I do to get her to eat her food? Should I allow some cat food just to get some food into her? Would catfood make an OK treat, seeing as she likes?

I want ot get a Papillon in the future. I have read tons of good reviews on them, but I'm the kind of person who gets worried after reading just one bad review. Are they little yappy dogs with bad adittudes like Chihuahuas or are those just the girl Pap's? I've heard that boys are more lovable so I want to get a boy. Any advice?

I have a couple of dog crates ( the black wire cage ones). The plastic tray bottom that comes with them have cracks in them but the cages are still good. I put a blanket in there but the dog chews them. Does anybody have an idea of what i could use to replace it? I tried a kennel mat but the dogs chewed it. do they sell just the bottm for these cages some where?

We have a 16 month old boxer and female dog just lately when you stroke her back she uncontrollably twitches her skin and if you continue stroking starts using one of her back legs as if to scratch. We treated her 2 days ago for fleas but it seems no better.

My husband and I are looking to get a new puppy within the next year or so. Currently, we have a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retreiver, which I had before the marraige. While he loves our Toller, he wanted a different type this time. He has fallen in love with Brittany Spaniels. From everything I have read online, and the limited transactions with them at dogs shows, I've found that they are increbility similar to my Toller. Does anyone have any experience with Brittany's? Any good/bad thingst o share, that wouldn't commonly be found online?
Bad qualities found so far: submissive peeing, increbile need for excersize and mental stimulation, and seperation anxiety. Seeing that my toller also has two of these three (the latter), I'm jsut wondering if there is anything else I should be warned of? Any input is great, thanks!
