Usually humane societies offer a discount...my dachsund cost 70 dollars, but if you don't trust them and want a good vet, you are probably looking at anywhere from $100-200 bucks, depending on the vet.

I work at a vet clinic, and where i work it usually costs between $100-200 to neuter a dog, and because you have a small dog it will be at the low end. But every clinic has different prices. If you do not have a regular veterinarian now, call around and ask for prices, and also ask what you get for that price. Higher prices usually offer more services, and lower prices offer fewer services. An example, is one clinic will add the price of the iv fluids, a pre surgical blood panel, pain injections after surgery, and that makes the price higher. While other clinics will not do those kinds of things, and it usually costs less. Good Luck, i hope you find the vet clinic that is right for you.

Net month I'm getting my shih tzu neutered and the vet said it will run about $290. But, I really think my vets just really expensive and I doubt it will be that high. I guess it will probably be 150-200max. Hope I could help!

$150 at my vet, but you'd need an exam and updated vaccines.
