I'm at a loss as to what has happened to my old mate. He was around 11 years old. I noticed him the other morning breathing rappidly and spread out on the ground. Tried to get him up but couldn't lift him (big dog). His tongue was a whitish colour and he felt hot, with his gums quite cold. Thought it may be paralysis tick then all of a sudden he got up and walked before falling in a heap. He was very unsteady on feet - like he was drunk. He seemed as though he had had enough. Unfortunately as we live in the bush we felt the only option was to put him down. I'm hoping that we did the right thing. Closer to the end his eyes were starting to roll around. Can somebody please help me to work out what could have happened. Seemed to be quite thirsty as well. Thankyou for taking the time to read this. We really miss him and would love to have some answers.

I have a 1 1/2 year old maltese x poodle. She is an ex-cruelty case but even so she was quite easy to toilet train. A couple of days ago I woke up and she had poo'd inside. I had a quiet and firm talk with her as I believe it is bad to scald dogs for toileting as they come to believe that they are being punished for doing the deed itself and not where they are doing it. She didnt poo for 2 days after this. Today I woke up and found 3 poo's inside in the same spot. We only have her and no other pets so she couldnt have been scent covering, and since she did it last time I have cleaned the carpet so she couldnt smell it. She has full access to outside and no reason not to go out i.e. it hasnt been cold, hot, windy or raining. Infact she spends most of the night outside watching people walk past and watching the world go by. I am so confused why she is doing this! She is a beautiful, happy, intelligent dog who is the love of my life and is absolutely part of the family. Please help us!

My dog used to take food off of the counter and table when he was a puppy and then he stoped doing it. Recently he has started to do this again. He started it around the same time when we got another dog. Why does he do this and do you have any suggestions that we can try so that he will stop? thank you!!

My shih tzu is pregnant by possibly 1 of 3 neighbor dogs who came into our yard, since we do have a fence...and not sure the breed - golden retriever, husky or small mutt. Wondering the cost so I am prepared incase it comes to that.

I always find it frustrating that there is all this legislation towards breeders (generally created by non-dog or animal people) that affects those who are responsible...the irresponsible breeders and puppy millers just go elsewhere.

Is this "doggie salami" as good an idea as it looks to be to my untrained eye? I have a 2 1/2mo papillon puppy that doesn't like hard, crunchy stuff all that well and I don't want to put her on a wetfood diet, so I was thinking maybe mix a little in to make her more interested in her own food than the cats'. Also, kinda hard to house train a dog when she has no interest in the buiscuts offered as rewards.

Anyone have experience/input with the stuff? All the reveiws I looked at on the petsmart site were great, but they were also for large dogs. What do you think?
