You need to ask yourself a few questions first, don't pick your dog because of it's looks or a few recommendations. You want a dog that best fits your personality not someone elses. Here's a few questions to ask yourself: 1. Do you have a house with a fenced yard? Is it a big yard or is it small? Or do you live in an apartment? 2. Are you looking for a running partner or a couch potatoe? 3. Do you want a dog that sheds a lot? Or a dog that hardly sheds? You need to consider your lifestyle and what kind of dog would be best for you. Think about what dogs could be fit for you and your lifestyle. If you don't know much about dog breeds consider buying a book with all the different dog breeds and their inheritant personalities and needs. I wish you the best of luck!

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are very good dogs. They are called 'the ultimate lap dog' by many because not only do they have an excellent temperament, they are great with other animals and children and are relatively easy to take care of. But whatever breed you decide to get, make sure it's from a specialized breeder. Dogs bred in puppy mills tend to have a lot of health problems and are not as friendly as they're supposed to be.

What is your life style? Are you an active person or couch potatoe? What level of trainability do you want? What level of care (i.e "wash-n-dry" or grooming)? How much time do you have to allot to your dog (all need time, but some breeds are needier than others)? What purpose do you want this dog for? Where do you live (house/apartment etc).

Answer these and I can help you a little more. That being said, check out Border Terriers (this is NOT my breed...just a great little breed)

I have a rattareor and he is a lot of fun. He likes to play all of the time and he is kinda protective (for a small dog) or a nother type of dog that is really small is a tea cup Chawawa ( thay only weigh about 2 pounds at the most)

That all depends on you! What level of exercise will you be able to give it? How much grooming can you do? How much time can you spend with it? Do you want one that is good with children? With other dogs? With other animals in general?

Each different breed has different personalities so it is hard to tell you what kind of dog to recommend, without knowing anything about you.

I have 2 italian greyhound and I LOVE them! They are very easy to housetrain and they love to love you! If my hubby wants to get in the floor and wrestle they are there. If I just want to love and cuddle with them they will do that too! They are only about 7-8 lbs. some are a little bigger but if you do not have alot of time I wouldn't reccomend this breed. They need ALOT of attention and a place to run!

I highly recommend a dachshund, regular size or mini. They have such a funny personality, they think they are big dogs so they will try to protect you. Also their fur is short and soft and easy to maintain. They can be really silly and playful also.

Standard Yorkshire Terrier (not the mini one). I have one and he is a complete doll!! Well behaved, super cuddly, and at the same time very protective!
