The maltipoo is actually what is referred to as a "designer dog" rather than a breed, but they are adorable. The Yorkie is actually a registered breed. Obviously you've done your research and chosen the type of dog you want, now it's time to find a puppy. I had to decide between a Dogue de Bordeaux and an American Bulldog. I thought it would be a tough decision, however, I started visiting reputable breeders who had puppies available. I spent time with the parents and the puppies until I found one that stole my heart the minutes she looked up at me. Turned out it was the American Bulldog and she's turned out to be the perfect choice.

You've used your head to choose a breed that would best fit into your life...now use your heart. Check out puppies from both breeds and see which actual puppy chooses you. You'll know your puppy the instant you see it.

PS - Whether you are getting a purebred or a designer dog...always check where it comes from. There are many reputable people who are responsibly breeding dogs like the labradoodle and the maltipoo, as well as others. There are also many who breed them just to make a dollar.

Go with the Yorkie. A maltipoo is not a breed, it is a mixed breed and no reputable breeder would breed mixed breed pups. Plus if you are going to spend a lot of money on a pup, you should get a purebred, not a mutt.

well a maltipoo is not a breed in it's own. it is a mixed breed of a maltese and a poodle. if you are slightly interested in a mixed breed do not support the type of breeders that breed these dogs. go to your local humane society or shelter. they will have dogs of this description waiting for a home. if you must have a purebred then go with yorkie as this is the only purebred you have listed. but make sure you research the breeder and that they screen and temperment test the breeding pairs. do not buy from a petstore or anywhere you cannot see where the pup was raised and at least one parent. if you don't do your research or buy a mixed breed dog from a so called breeder you will have nothing but a sickly dog and heartache. save yourself this. research proper puppy care. make sure you can afford and provide it such as vaccines, exams, spay or neuter and continued vet care for the pup, as well as toys, crate, leash, collar, etc...and can exercise, socialize and train the dog. if you can do all of these things then you might be ready for a dog. go to the shelter and let the educated employees there guide you to the perfect match for you. and be prepared to provide all of the above.

Hi there!!
I have a maltese x poodle and i think they are fantastic. I have been looking at getting another dog and believe it or not, i am thinking of getting a yorkie!! From what I know, yorkies are harder to train and bark more. The mix of maltese and poodle is fantastic as it is very intelligent and sheds little to no hair.

I will warn you though, if you do decide to go with the maltipoo, make sure it is a good mix. Some claim to be maltipoo's but are far beyond the breeding of it.

I dont have my yorkie yet, but i will definately reccomend a maltipoo. they are adorable, intelligent, loving, low shedding (if not no shedding) and very easy to take care of. I love mine. she is FANTASTIC!

A Maltipoo is not a breed it is a mix between a Maltese and a Poodle. If delibrately bred and fron a "breeder" then it has been irresponsibly bred.

A Yorkie (Yorkshire Terrier) is a purebred. One needs to be careful on this breed since there are many irresponsible breeders who don't breed to breed standard or for health, temperament, etc.

So it depends if you are looking for a purebred or a mix and if you want to check out shelters/rescues or if you want to search for a responsible breeder.

A Maltipoo isn't a breed. Don't buy one. You would only be suporting the back yard breeders that are creating mixed breeds and charging naive people ridiculous amounts of money.

If you really want a mixed breed go to www.petfinder.com and type in your zip code and breed preference. All the adoptable dogs in your area will come up. The fees to adopt the dog will be much cheaper then any backyard breeder.

Since a Maltipoo isn't a breed, it is a unpredictable mutt, I would go with the Yorkie.

Yorkie, because they are the same price as the maltipoo and they aren't a mutt.

i think maltipoos are cute, but oy have to be careful

when experimenting with new breeds, ive heard that if you mix the wrong 2 breed of dog together it will be born retarted. i dont really support the testing of new breeds but its your choice

although they have said mutts ARE smarter than purebreds..and yorkies are purebred. you should go and ask about the pros and cons of both breeds of dogs whereever you go, that may answer your question too.
