I've read a lot of posts on here saying that Science Diet dog food is not good. We feed it to our puppy, and she seems to like it and is healthy. But should we stop feeding her Science Diet? I am really curious to know why so many people don't like it.

I've seen many people say that vets only recommend it because they get paid to endorse it, for example. But I'd like to see some opinions backed up by actual proof, please. I want to make sure I'm feeding our puppy the best food possible. :)

When my boyfriend and I go to work we put her in our bathroom attached to the bedroom with her food, water, pee pad, toys, etc so she can still have room to play because I just cannot put her in a cage. She has to be trained so is there any other way?

i've cleaned it with warm water & i've held the towel at the bump to try to aleve any itching. (although it doesn't itch her) the cleaning didn't bother her, it just looks weird. she's going to the groomer friday so i'll ask them to express her anal gland.

Vet said he was not in good health and that his left eye didnt even look normal..I felt I was doing the right thing by having him put down but I feel terrible. He said there was no amount of money going to make it better. I feel soo sad over doing this.. We had him for only 24hours. Also, it was the 2nd vet that had seen him.Poor thing was only 4 weeks old and the mother stopped nursing it so thats why we had him so early in his life. Please someone ease my guilt. At least he was very loved what short time we had him.

These dogs look almost identical to a rottie but they are small dogs full grown. They usually have a bit longer hair also.

We just moved into an apartment.
He has always been in house with a backyard, now he has to be walked to poop, which he does daily.
The windows are high up so he can't look out, he always had a window to look out.
He is a house broken, 7 year old, Siberian Husky.
He is never done this before.

My dog is a Chow-mix that I've had for over 7 years. He's a gentle, furry, outside dog, and he's really great! My problem is, he never wants to come inside when it's cold out! True, he has a VERY VERY THICK coating of fur, and is NEVER cold, but when it gets to freezing tempuratures outside, I almost feel as if it's my duty to bring him inside! ...But, whenever I try to bring him in, he resists, and when I finally DO get him inside, all he does is sit beside the door and stare at me, occasinally whining, until I let him out.

So, should I leave him outside since he seems to be most comfortable there, even though I'm afriad he may get too cold, or should I bring him inside against his will and listen to his whining?

...And, YES, i DO force him to come inside when it's storming out... I'm not talking about that. I'm just talking about when it's really cold.

PLEASE ANSWER! =]

Its the size of a pimple and she only has one. It is located on the right side of her back. (down the side a tiny bit)I looked at it, and did see anything, then gentle squeezed it. It was red afterwards, I think a dot of blood.
She has been to the vet, all her shots are updated, just finished the last treatment of advantage multi (for heartworms, fleas, etc).
She eats well, is very energetic, no temperature, and this "pimple" does not bother her at all....What could it be?
Apart from telling me to take her to the vet, does anyone have any idea's? Thanks very much!

my dog eats twice a day and poops at odd hours. i'm trying to change his feed to once a day. when his main meal is in the evening, he poops just after breakfast. but when his main meal is in the morning, he doesn't poop during his walk which is just after (hasn't digested?). he poops even before dinner. i'm just wondering what will happen when he's eventually only fed 1 meal a day? any idea how long it takes for bowel movement to occur?

I am looking to buy a chihuahua puppy (not for breeding or showing, but I want an AKC-certifiable pup), and have been doing tons of research in order to make an educated decision. I have found lots of breeders here in NJ, but upon examining their websites, I have determined that they HAVE to be puppy mills ("CKC certifiable pups", etc?), putting out 3 litters a month?! I read somewhere that 3-4 litters a YEAR is ideal. Does anyone know of any chihuahua breeders (preferably in the NJ/PA/NY area) that meet the following criteria?:

1) breeds to BETTER the breed, and currently SHOWS their dogs
2) breeds chihuahuas only (no other breeds)
3) both the sire and dam are AKC-certified (CKC scares me)

There's only one AKC listing in NJ, I checked her out and it may be a puppy mill. :( Any other suggestions? Please post a link or contact info! Thanks in advance! :) (Any other related advice would be appreciated here also!)

Has your pet dog or cat ever had babies? What happened to the little ones? Where did they go? How did mom cope with the litter and what happened to her after they were gone?

The vet said he propaply had it before we got him he is 7 months old--he started throwing up really bad last night so I took him in. They did a blood test and from certain levels of chemicals in the blood they said his kidneys are bad and there is nothing they can do, He still has his appetite and is drinking lots of water--he is throwing up way less to day --he does have diahhrea(SP?)--and he has always peed a great deal (he is a big dog rot/lab)--he has been a bit lethargic the last couple of days.
I need to know if anyone has had this experience---I cannot do what the vet is asking without more knowledge and complete certainty---this is my baby.

I fed her a leaf (small) of cabbage and now she seems real loaf like. She is sleeping and I did play with her earlier (before I gave her the leaf) and she was fine. It seems that after, she has been really sleepy, tired, lazy. I am wondering if I poisoned my dachshund? She was fine up until now. I wonder if she is truly sick or just tired from the day.

We have puppy that someone gave us back in October. We don't know much about her because she was dropped on the people who were giving her away. I took her to our vetenarian shortly after for a checkup and according to how old he estimated then, she is about 6 months old now. So far she is only about 17lbs. About how much more do they usually grow after 6 months?
