my daschund hound only three years old but how will i know about the slipped disc thing? thank you

I have a daschie too, from what I've read the symptoms will probably be paralysis in the hind quarters, he or she might yelp with pain if they try to move. If there seems to be difficulty in movement or pain, then get them to a vet to verify this. Most vets recommend that you keep them from jumping on and off furniture and limit movement up and down stairs, which (as most of us who are owned by a daschund) is easier said than done. Also keep their weight down will help with prevention of back problems. Hope this helps.
