Me and my husband are having a heated dicussion over keeping our new lab puppy in the house of outside. As long as the dog is small he says we can keep him in the house. He says once the dog gets grown he will be too large for the house. I am of course disagreeing with him on this. We do have three small kids and live in a medium sized home, but I still believe that a dog would be fine in the house. Do you have any suggestions? Should we just put him outside?

I'll start. My big, beautiful newfoundland dog/puppy hasn't figured out yet that he can go "potty" on walks. I will walk him when he has to "go" but he will not "go" for any reason. Then, when we get home, he runs to the back door to signal he has to "potty". Also, he is about 120lbs and is scared of a 16 year old, 2lb chiuaua. When he sees it, he runs to the house.

We also want a FEMALE not male, we are not looking to breed nor show. we just want to have another one since the one we had was stolen from us when the house got broken into and that has been almost 10 yrs. ago. So please help would like to have one by Christmas for my husband, and please let it be reasonable.

This issue is that he is terribly spoiled. I have 3. They are all treated the same. He is 1 1/2. I rescued him out of a box when he was a couple of months old. He was parasitic, scared and absolutely adorable. He would cuddle up on my shoulder and hide his head and sleep for hours. I love him like a child. I love all of them, but this little guy has me wrapped. He's so darn sorry when he's naughty. The problem is that have been working more and more from home and he will sit under my desk and cry and cry for me to pick him up. I absentlmindesly picked him up a few times and now he doesn't stop. I've tried to let him whine for a while but it's relentless and I have to get some work done. I've tried putting him in his crate, moving the crate. Barks at me, cries. Gets my other two all upset when they would normally be ok. I had steps made so they can get up in my bed without my help and he will stand by them and cry for me to pick him up and put him in bed. Help!

Alot of people ask this, but why do people keep dropping there dogs and cats, etc. beside the roads, and at people's houses? I just relized how Bad it was, and it is worse than I had thought. We just found one kitten, and now we just had a stray, skinny as I don't know what dog come up to us at 9:00 p.m.
I've never done anything like that, so why do people do stuff that horrible? i know I'll get horrible answers, that I don't approve of but I'm just wondering. Why do some of you people do that?

Little dogs are in right now thanks to Paris Hilton. But I have always loved big dogs...they can protect you and aren't yappy.

Our chihuahua was very lightly hit by a car. It frightened her way mroe than injured. In fact, she just limped for a bit.

Now however, she will NOT pee in the yard as she would before, ahd scoots back to the front door as soon as I carry her outside. So, there have been 'accidents' and dog doo on the carpet. No one has caught her in the act to scold her.

Any ideas about how to remove her fear of the outdoors, and how to retrain her to do her stuff OUTside, not in the house.

We have a black lab who is 6 months old. For the past month or so, he has been itching like crazy, smell coming from his ears and has really bad dandruff. We took him to the vet thinking that he had earmits again. He ended up having an infection in his ears (gave him antibiotics and ear medicine) and said that he had a food allergy and put him on a special vet diet. He is taking Eukanuba something with fish and potato. Well, the dandruff isn't going away and when I was petting him today, something bit me (I have a little bite on my hand that itches). He doesn't have fleas. Any suggestions. Do you think the vet is right? How would she know that he had a food allergy? And shouldn't it be helping by now? My husband was in there with my dog...so I dont know ALL The info...but he is still itching like hell. Its been a week now. Thanks

Sometimes, my dog runs out to the front lawn, and she's fine. She runs around a bit and then comes back in the house. But other times, she runs down the block and won't listen to me.

i wonder if its normal though. he's only 2 mos old, very playful! he loves tearing everything and he loves biting my leg or my arm if i cuddle him. he thinks its a game when he barks at me and would look like he wants to attack his master!!! hasnt taken his anti rabies shot yet. i wonder if this will change if he grows up... thanks!!
