Alot of people ask this, but why do people keep dropping there dogs and cats, etc. beside the roads, and at people's houses? I just relized how Bad it was, and it is worse than I had thought. We just found one kitten, and now we just had a stray, skinny as I don't know what dog come up to us at 9:00 p.m.
I've never done anything like that, so why do people do stuff that horrible? i know I'll get horrible answers, that I don't approve of but I'm just wondering. Why do some of you people do that?

I guess sometimes (probably most of the time) some people just don't think that an animals life is worth much and instead of taking them to a shelter or finding a good home for them they take the easy way out figuring that someone will pick it up or that it will be able to take care of itself and find it's own food. It's very sad but it happens. And I guess there are other's that just don't have the commen sense to know any better.
My husband and I were at Dairy queen and while we were waiting at the drive thru a stray kitten walked up in front of our car. When the owner served us our ice cream he looked at it and as serious as can be told my husband to gun the car and hit it. I was totally speechless!
Well, needless to say, we brought him home. We also named him D.Q. because that's where we found him.
I don't know if this helps but just wanted you to know that I think it's horribly sad too.
Have a blessed night! :)

poor people can't afford them and can't give them away. It is some how more humane than eating them. The problem is that the never go and fix the pets they have so they keep breeding. I have a friend who lives in a trailer. He brother brought home two dogs and in a year it turned to be 10 dogs. The sister brought home a box of 5 kittens 6 generations of kittens later no they have over 30 cats don't ask me how they afford it all.
To be honest I hate my dog now and so does my dad if it weren't for his wife we would have gotten rid of it. We are all nice to the dog I take for walks ( I tried to jog with her) But she is just a lazy, stupid, wimp, of a dog. I know it's not the dogs fault because my dad's wife turned her into the spoiled brat that she is. I don't understand why it has to be so lazy. It is a young dog and I use to jog with her when she was a puppy but she got stubborn I really think some animals just have bad personalities just like people. The funny thing is when The Wife leaves within a day The dog becomes cool she runs around has more fun will actually jog around the block with me. I guess the problem isn't the dog it's the my dad's wife :-) I don't think I would ever just leave an animal on the side of the road though there are so many better options to get rid of an animal.

Either they bought a kitten/puppy, and realized it was too much work, and gave up, or they bought a cat/dog, didn't bother to spay it like a responsible owner, it had babies, and they didn't want to bother finding good homes for them, so they dump the babies on the side of the road and figure someone else will solve the problem for them, because they're too lazy and irresponsible to take care of it themselves even though it's their own fault.
These people are horrible, and should be fined or go to jail for this kind of animal abuse.

I would like to know the answer to this myself!! I have adopted 4 stray kittens & 2 dogs & now my 5 month pup!! I rescued her because my neighbor brought a puppy for his 2 yrs old nephew then decided he already had 3 dogs didn't want to beresponsible for #4 so he just stopped feeding it so I started feeding her when she came into my yard looking for food!! When she had her ribs showing I asked my neighbor if he wanted her & he said no. Then I asked if I could have her & he said no!! After about a week of feeding her my husband & I cornered her in our yard & brought her in & kept her when we took her to the vet we found out that she was 10 weeks & we knew that the our neighbor had her for 4 weeks. She was only 5 weeks when they got her!!
I'm one of those people who rescue abandoned animals right now I have my puppy plus 4 stray cats that I'm feeding as well!!
I wish I knew why people can be so cruel & abandon animals!! If you can't afford them don't get one!! If you have to move make sure you can have animals & PLEASE get them spayed & netured so we won't have that many on the streets where then can get hurt!!

People normally abandon pets because they can no longer take care of them and do not want the "embarrassment" (as they see it) of bringing it to the Humane Society and having to answer questions. Sometimes it is done out of plain cruelty either to the animal or the owner of an animal (such as in bad divorces, abusive situations, etc.) Many people feel that if they leave an animal at a person's house that that person will somehow feel obligated to take care of the animal and the former owner can drive away feeling he/she has "given a good home" to the animal left.

Because they are irresponsible people!!! Sometimes people get pets when they don't fully think through all of the costs and details involved in being a pet owner and later find out they can't handle it or the novelty of the "baby" phase wears off. Instead of doing the right thing at that point and giving the animal up for adoption to someone they know or the humane society, they do the irresponsible thing of dropping them off somewhere and leaving them for dead. Some people think they will get in trouble by going to the humane society but that's just stupid and makes no sense!....Just my opinion.

They're heartless and cruel. People like that disgust me to no end and I don't think (unless you agree with what they do) you will ever understand. It's probably best kept that way.
If you'd like to combat it, I suggest maybe volunteering some of your free time at the local pound or SPCA.

Irresponsible people do such things. It is much more humane to take them to a shelter or find a P.O.P. (Pet Over-Population) member to take them. There is always someone who will take puppies or kittens and find a good home for them. It isn't necessary to abandon puppies or kittens . . . it's just cruel.

I don't know. But, I think it's terrible. I would drop my husband on the side of the road before I would do that to my three dogs.

Its not right these people have black hearts. If you find out who it is report them to some organization that protects animals, because that is animal abuse. I'm not a fan of cats but i'm not going to buy one just to starve out in the cold.
