Dogs LOVE squeaky toys. Its inherent. Bones seem to be a preferred toy. My labrador loves Nylabones. You can find them at almost any pet store or other store that sells pet items. They dont' shard when they are chewed and the plastic is easily digestable. They are the only chew toys approved by Guide Dogs for the Blind Inc. Sterilized bones are great as well. Dogs love them becaue they are REAL bones. I love them because if they get dirty you can just put them in the dishwasher. Extremely convenient. I prefer not to use treats with dogs. It makes them too dependent on food rewards. To make a new dog feel at home, give him space to explore. Give him a TON of love and affection, pats on the head, belly rubs, etc. Dogs appreciate beds, but they aren't absolutely necessary. I bought my lab a dog bed and he sleeps on the tile floor. I hope this helps. Best of luck with your new dog!!!

I love the Kong toys. I know they're a bit pricey next to dollar stuff but my dog loves that puzzle biscuit ball and plays with it for hours, then gets a reward when she figures out how to get the treats out. I would recommend those because they're very hard to destroy. Don't get a bed just get until you figure out chewing and sleeping habits. You might end up wasting 30 bucks like i did only to have it destoryed and her sleeping at my feet

My dogs love their Kongs and also any interactive treat-dispensing toy. I always put their food inside a Kong or an amaze-a-ball. I like the natural chewies like bully sticks and pig ears. I'm using fleece fabric remnants for bedding with my pup right now because I think she'd tear a bed apart (gotta see what's inside!) and those fleece pieces are cheap. Have fun!

Oddly enough, my dog's favourite treat is a carrot. Her favourite toy is a bone made from rope. Avoid toys that have small parts that can be bitten off and swallowed (dogs are like small children, and can choke on pieces chewed off of toys).

My dog likes the Kong Toy stuffed with pieces of baby carrots and peanut butter. She also likes soft fleece squeaky toys. I would get him a bed so he has his own place to sleep. I don't think it is a good habit to get him into sleeping in your bed. My dog loves her bed.

get him a kong. you can fill it with cheese or soft food. there are many different types of toys and chews for dogs. make sure they are safe and supervise him while he is playing with them. some toys break very easily or get old. your dog can choke on small parts of toys. if you call your vet and ask what kind of treats will be good for your aged pup. good luck.

i Wouldn`t qet a squeaky one ; That miqht annoy you in the middle of the niqht ; & as for a bed i`d buy one even if he does sleep in your bed. He`d probably like to have more options. & Doqs seem to like to eat jombones - but if he`s a little doq i`d say little bones, they could be expensive thouqh. Doqs will eat any treats, & sleep anywhere. As lonq as you show him love & play with him he`ll be a happy quy. & Don`t rouqh house him cause he miqht turn out to be a mean doq then & qet defensive when someone trys to play with or pet him.

Any squeaky toy will do. Either the plastic ones or the stuffed ones. Most dogs like them bone shaped or cat shaped. Raw hide bones are the best though.

I have a 6 month old Lab (Brian) and he loves those " Snausages in a Blanket" tail wagging good! He didn't care for the rawhide. There are these things called Greenies, they are great for his teeth and breath and he'll love to chew on it.
