Little dogs are in right now thanks to Paris Hilton. But I have always loved big dogs...they can protect you and aren't yappy.

I love all dogs! I just think they are so great! I have a pug and he is my little buddy. But I have friends who have labs and golden retrievers and they are great too. There are goods and bads about all breeds.

I love little dogs. I have a 4 month old 5 1/2 pound Bichonpoo. I have taught her "no bark" and she is not yappy at all. On a rare occasion while playing she will let out a little bark and I just say "no bark" firmly without yelling and I don't hear from her again. She is a real sweetheart.

I like medium sized. My last dog was a Dachshund-Corgi/Terrier mix (about 30 lbs). Man, I loved that dog! He would have been 17 tomorrow (passed away from a heart condition 2 years ago).
I am surrounded (in my neighborhood) by a hyper lab, around 15 Shih Tzus (from 3 homes) that won't shut up, a lab that was ruined by its Shih Tzu siblings (barks like crazy w/ the rest of them) and what looks like a papillion-something mix that spins in a circle like crazy whenever she sees me (funniest thing ever!).
Small breeds seem too fragile, large breeds are just too big for the size of house that I have. I think I'll just stick with my medium sized mutts.

Medium sized to big dogs! Little dogs tend to be too nervous around kids and are too yappy. Bigger dogs are funner to play with, great with kids, and like you said, more intimidating than little dogs to people who don't know them.

yeah i love big dogs. Well, not that big. I have boxers. Boxers are great because there not extremely big, but are very strong and protect you, and are cuddly. Little dogs are too yappy, and have to be pampered. to me thats not a dog.

I have 2 German Shepherds right now and love them to death. BUT - when my female deciedes that she wants to pull - it is like trying to stop a frieght train. She can almost pull my arm out of my socket!!!
The thing I like about a little dog is that if you want to go one way and the dog doesn't, then you can simply pick up the dog and that's that!!!

The go0d things about little dogs that there po0py comes out little ((sometimes!!)) and doesnt always make a big mess-- but BIG dogs make BIG piles of po0py!!!! Thats why i like small pups better!!!! =)

I love both!!!! would love to have a pitt bull, but I don't have the room. I do own a toy rat terrier and she is the best dog I have ever owned.
