I have 4 Minature-Dachshund puppies that are almost 3 weeks old. I know it is way to early right now to let their new owners take them. When is the average age they are taken away from their mothers.
Thanks

HELLO!!!! im guessing that some of you are dog showers and i would appreciate it if you would tell me some of your experiences in dog shows. What all do u have to do to show them and do they have to learn special tricks to be involved? And do they have to ha ev "papers" to show that they are full blood? like pure bred.

all at once, no prior issues, no poison found. buffy was acting fine all day. i lay down to take a nap and heard her outside in the hallway, whimpering and bumping. i came out and she had pooped in the hallway and was trembling and whimpering on the staircase landing. i carried her downstairs to her bed. she was panting heavily, but isn't now. now she is droolong a lot, and cannot stand very well. i hand fed her some chicken, which she ate, and sat her water bowl in front of her which she has been drinking from, but she seems uncoordinated, being very careful and gingerly lapping up the water.

Such as dogs, or cats. If you put those winter coats on them, and take them for a walk, do you think they get embarrased around other dogs?

Pitbulls are a great dog to own, Unfortunally alot of people breed for aggression, and those are the pitbulls that make it to the media and make the other grefat friendly pitbulls look bad! BSL sucks as well, I have seen many pitbulls get put to sleep because of ignorance and fear!!!

Hi!

Well I have a 17 week old staffie bull terrier puppy, and over the last few days his poo has been getting softer and sloppy (I hope none of you are eating your tea!! lol) He is acting normal, sleeping, eating bit less, but still eats well. He plays and generally he is ok.
We use a dry dog food and usually add water to it, but last week my fella gave him just the same food but dry. Could it be this? as we dont feed him human food or anything like that... I am worried he may be ill, I wouldnt know what do if he was badly ill!

Any advice appreciated

So far "Virgina Woof Dog Daycare" seems to be leading the pack (sorry) but I welcome any other suggestions. The ideal place would separate small and large dogs, be cage free, and provide web-cams for worried owners to spy on their dogs.

This dog is not mine, she is my girlfriend's parent's. I like to take her for walks in open fields though. I'd like to let her off of her leash, but I'm afraid she will just run wild and I'll never get her back. For now I just want her to have my attention, listen to me, and stop yanking on my leash. I know she is a sled dog, but she still needs to know some commands! She is only a year old by the way, so I'm sure she can still be molded! Thanks!

Obviously, all the breeds of dogs "recognized" by the AKC were mutts at one point in time. In order to get the purebred dogs that we have today, other dogs had to be bred to another breed of dog. Am I not correct? So people who are breeding mutts today, such as a Pom/Poodle mix, or a Labradoodle down the road may have a recognized breed by the AKC. It only takes so many generations of breeding in order to get the AKC to recognize a mutt as a purebred.

So, I would say, rather then telling people not to breed the dogs that they want to breed, just tell them they are not a recognized breed as of yet.

You never know, that Labradoodle 20 years down the road may be in Westminster and win BIS.

The ones with bells instead of vibration do not work.Pet Peeves in Goodwood On. used to sell them. They have moved or gone out of business. We use the vibrating feature,NOT the shock unless absolutely necessary.
