What is the best dog to have?

my g/f wants a pitbull. Just seeing what other ppl's thoughts are.

Pitbulls can be great dogs, but consider where you are getting them and how they are raised and what was bred into the dog. They can be mean and are well known for turning on their owners. I would suggest a boxer instead if you want something still as playful and yet aggressive with the same 'look' but not known for turning on their owners as often. Personally, I would get a chihuahua. You'll never go back. haha.

It all depends on what you need. I like Golden Retrievers the best. They are one of the smartest dog breeds. They like to be active but can also be slugs if you don't feel like takin them for a walk or something. They are great with kids too. But as with all dogs it depends on how they are raised on how they turn out.
But I don't think you can go wrong with a mutt too, my grandpa was a vet forever and he said mutts are usually the smartest because they don't have inbreeding like pure breeds. Plus they usually don't have the same diseases.

It just has to be a Boxer dog.
My boxer is funny, childish, energetic and totally barmy. My vet says that they never grow up which is great if you want a dog that just makes you laugh all the time. they are very protective and extremly loyal.
You cant go wrong with a boxer. I will never have another breed!!

Depends on your family/life styly...etc.
If you have a family,small dogs arent good with kids.
If you have a big yard and a good place for a bigger dog to run around and excerixe I would say a Bigger dog.
