I don't think it's wise to have people who don't know your dog, name it for you. Study it's personality - then you'll come up with a name that suits it. It took me a week to find the right name for my Border Collie - then one morning it just 'clicked'.
Make sure it's a name the pup can grow into. Nothing like Fluffy, or Spot or some other such dumb name.

You should call your dog by saying the name sweetly. If it doesn't responed then than yell for it.
