Puppies shouldn't leave Mom until they're at least eight weeks of age, and there are actually some good reasons why veterinarians recommend this.
Dogs, just like people, develop social skills as babies. Puppies pick up some critical information during those first two months, from interactions with their littermates and with their mother. They learn appropriate responses and boundaries in play. It makes for easier to train and more socialable dog in most instances.
Another reason is the overall health of the dog. At eight weeks of age, our puppies have, through the course of nursing, acquired whats called "maternally derived antibodies". This is a fancy way of saying they've obtained superior immune systems and immune responses to some common infectious diseases through a substance in Mom's milk called colostrum. It's more likely that they'll respond well to vaccinations after they're sent off to their new homes.
Good for you, investigating before you rehome your new pups. I'm sure you've got some great families lined up - what an exciting time! Have fun these next few weeks, and take lots of pictures!

I reckon the mother looks sad because you dint give them as much attention. Puppy's need a lot of attention all the time and when the puppy's get attention the mother gets attention. have i said attention enough lol :) anyways puppy's in the wild don't stay with there mothers forever so why should they stay with mum in the domesticated environment? It's not as if the mother was never taken away from it's mother or anything lol It's natural

Pups can be taken from their mothers when they're fully weaned; around 6 weeks of age. But we always suggest that they stay with the moms until they're at least 8-9 weeks old. During these later weeks the mother dog teaches the pups "pack manners" which is the precursor to the behavior training you'll do with the pups as they get older.

8-10 weeks, once the mother has stopped feeding them. Be sure you are giving the mother alot of calcium. give her milk and calcium cupplemts you can buy at the store. the puppies are drinking alot of mile from her, taking alot of her clacium away so she need to replace that. feed her more often, and make sure you watch her all the time, if she starts to act weird, or anything not normal for her take her to the vet ASAP.

Usually 8-10 weeks but it really depends. It could be less or more than that depending on the dogs. If the puppies are beginning to eat regular dog food and if they tend to move away from the mother and not stick right by her, then they're probably ready to leave.

The average age is 6 to 8 weeks. Once the mother starts to kinda wean them herself is also a good time. To feel completely safe try between 8 to 10 weeks old. They will do great. The longer you wait after 10 weeks the harder it will be for you to let them go. & you don't want to dissapoint the new owners.
