So far "Virgina Woof Dog Daycare" seems to be leading the pack (sorry) but I welcome any other suggestions. The ideal place would separate small and large dogs, be cage free, and provide web-cams for worried owners to spy on their dogs.

"9 large kennels for feeding and quiet time." is part of the blurb for the place you suggested & there are no pictures of the accomodation.
A lot of "cageless" facilities actually crate the dogs overnight and the dogs are less safe than in a good, secure, individual penned kennel or whatever you want to call the place. ( A kennel is a place where dogs live so anywhere that boards is a kennel whatever they call themselves)
Go & view any facilities, ask about staffing, ask what happens if two dogs take a dislike to each other - it happens.
A lot of these "no cage " places are springing up & some of the standards of care and expertise are seriously low. Dogs are dogs, not little people & they need to be treated as such.

What does your dog do at home?
He curls up in his bed or on the sofa - so he need a comfy bed. He eats - so he needs the food & treats he is used to.
He plays - so he needs toys & attention.
He poops - so he needs somewhere he feels content "going", either on a leashed walk or in a secure area.
Radio or TV are a touch of home as are familiar things - you can't have things from home in a mixed group.

You need to look for attention to the dogs as individuals, observant staff, cleanliness, security. ( no point having play equipment if the dogs can be injured or escape.)
Above all ask around for recommendations & don't trust the adverts - go & see for yourself.
