Yes - better late than never. It's a little more difficult, but dogs can be trained at any age. I would suggest that you go to a certified dog trainer, especially if he is undisciplined.

It is never too late. Older dogs actually learn better than puppies for tricks because they are calmer and listen better. Habits might be a little harder to work on because they are more set in their ways but it shouldn't be that dificult depending on what you need to work on.
My last dog was a german shepherd mix and he learned the best after he was 5-6. German shepherds are very very intelligent. He should learn just fine.

they always say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but if you put time and effort in it you can train any dog at any age you just may have a more difficult time. I know I am having a hard time with my bulldog pup I have had dogs all of my life but this one will not quit pooping in her cage. even if i let her out she will hold it for her cage. she will not go on my floor but her and that cage I think it is because when I had the whole litter I just couldn't take 7 of them out at the same time. Evey time I start to make progress the weather doesn't cooperate with me I can't take her out in the pouring rain, back to your dog as long as you have your boundaries down and your dog knows you are the alpha then you should have no problem. if all else fails call the dog whisperer

It is never to late.
You must remember that it has taken time for him to become the way he is, and it will take time to modify his behavior to get it the way you want it.

Positive training methods work much better and quicker than negative methods or punishment.

Try to find a trainer in your area to work with your dog.

I also offer email consults, so that is also an option if you would like to do the training yourself.

I don't think it is ever too late to train a dog. You will need a lot of patients and maybe a lot of doggy treats but I think it can be done. Good luck!

Absolutely...that saying "you cant teach an old dog new tricks" is false except when wanting to train them something they physically cant do because of ailements like arthritis or fitness level.

Its never to late to train your dog, you may have to take him to obediance school though. Check your local pet store or your vet to see where is the best place to go. Good Luck
