Our dog has lost 40 lbs in 3 weeks. Eats regularly, no discomfort can be seen. He is 6 years old and has bowle movements 3-4 times a day. The stool is normal. It seems as if his digestive system is working overtime. He is not urinating more frequently than normal. Any ideas?

He also develops sores under his front legs near his chest amd near his groin. Is this some kind of skin allergy? I paid a lot of money for him and he is supposed to be of sound breeding health wise. Are skin sores a sign of a defect for a pure bred?

Seven years ago I gave my Mom a chihahua for her B-day.I know they're 1 person dogs but he's nice to everyone but me.When I got him I kept him in a dog carrier for 2 days and couldn't coax him out . I've never hurt him on the contrary i've done all I could to win him over. He's come along a little but not much,I can only get near him thats all, once he ate jerky from my hand but only with Mom around. How can I win him over 7 years is long to hold a grudge!!he's got to get over it right??We've made progress but little and slowly.Sometimes I think he enjoys it cause Mom says he looks for me when Im not around and seems to miss me!!Is this a game to him or is there a chance for reconciliation between me and the little mutt?! I like him and would like to someday pet and give him affection but I cant even pick him up now what do I do have I in someway scarred him by scaring him,Once I chased him round the house but didn't hurt him he's very spoiled its ridiculous!!!!

today, I took my 3 years old lhasa apso to a dog park. we adopted him and we have him for 4 months. so I am not sure if his previous owner took him to dog park or not. he was trying to be alone himself and didn't socialize very much with other dogs. my question is: is it normal for a lhasa apso dog to not socialize at dog park with other dogs for the first time? do you think if i continue taking him to dogs park would help him or not.

Today we found some tumors on my dog that we have had for 11 years. My family is really hurting because we know with his age and the history of the medical problems my dog has had he most likely will have to be put to sleep. One of my best friends seen my brother at the local store and he asked my brother what is wrong cause I wasn't at the game night my group of friends and I normally have every weekend on Saturday. My brother told him that i was at home really upset and spending some time with my dog before the dreadful day comes my best friend looked at him and told my brother "I take of the dog for you and put him out of his missery with my 22" I am pissed that he took and said that I have not talked to him at all about it but my mother has said that he is not welcomed at our home any more because of that statement. How do you think i should handle this problem with him. And do u think i have all the right to be pissed at him.

HI, My 13 year old dalmatian is a complete mess. He pees and poops in the house (usually after we let him in from what we hope is going outside t do his business.) He does this sometimes two to three times a day. He never signals when he needs to go out. He has at last count 15 kidney stones and is going blind. I feel that he should be put down but my brother and my parents say wait. Personally I think it is wrong to keep a dog alive when his quality of life is no longer there. He cannot run anymore (he lost all his muscle) he has gone from 55 ounds to 25. The vet said that the surgery to help him would kill him because of his age. Now I know many people will agree with my family and not me but I ould like some imput on what we should do. He is not the dg he was when we rescued him. Recently he got fleas and ticks and wasn't even bothering to scratch himself. What should I do? Please do not say we are cruel because there are many people who would have put him down earlier.
