I have had many dogs but I find the Pitbull to be the best so far. I could go on forever about how lovely they are as pets but if you are all pitbull owners then you would already know.
Banning the breed is so wrong in many ways. I just dont know why humans believe the have the right to breed out these animals, It is not a decision I think anybody should be able to make.
My pitbull is so intelligent and I am so close to him he is my life !!!
In my opinion he has been so easy to train because pitbulls are so eager to please their owners, so I dont see the problem. If they are brought up well they are an excellent dog !!! BAN THE DEED NOT THE BREED .....

In the city I live in Pit Bulls have been banned because an elderly woman was seriously hurt and almost died from a pit bull and a young girl died from being attacked by the same dog. There have been other attacks as well severly injuring the person. The thing is, is the dog's owners were interviewed and all have said they raised the dogs from puppies, were well socialized and very friendly dogs. They also said that the dogs would have never hurt anyone. Unfortunately, the dogs just turned and attacked people for no reason. In this case I do agree with the ban but if it's just because people don't like the breed, then it is, in my opinion wrong.
So, you do have to understand where the others are coming from when others have been seriously hurt or killed from attacks on pitbulls when they have never done anything like that before.

I am certainly against it. In a way, it's kind of like racism. In my city, pitbulls were being banned so we all banded up together in a protest to try and convince the mayor to stop the ban and she said she would... here we are a YEAR LATER doing the exact same thing because it's only gotten worse. Pitbull owners here have to keep they're dogs in hiding unless they want a 160$ fine. My cousin got fined an extra 160$ for "assulting a police officer" by saying the ticket he got for walking his dog Murphy was bull****.

We should ban owners that treat pit bulls like crap. I was attacked by one once. It was a second time offender. The owners used to make her run around the yard with a cinder block attached to her chain, never let her come inside. She was basically a vicious guard dog. I would not have been surprised if they had been fighting her. Someone (not me I didn't have the courage) ended up killing her. The sad thing was she had puppies and they were all outside in the middle of January. The poor pups froze.
But at least they were smart enough to keep their three year old little girl away from the dog. She would not have had a chance.

i will't stand what the authorities tries to implement about Pitbulls. it really is surely ludacris and irrational. Why do not they bypass after the human beings who do this truly of penalizing a good looking breed. I actually have had 3 Pitbulls over my lifetime (at the moment I personal a Blue male who weighs in at 85lbs) and each and every SINLGE ONE became socialilzed perfect and loved different animals, children and human beings. If something, to maintain the breed, (like different breeds that were bred to take down different large animals or perhaps human beings)-make ability proprietors bypass by an finished certification and registration to make certain ideal preparation and use is utilized. i believe that this may placed a provide as a lot as fairly some battling and attacks. yet another element that media and authorities favor to be careful of even as reporting an attack is the surely breed of the canines. there have been countless circumstances the position the dogs that attacked were categorised as Pitbulls and the were no longer. everyone looks so quick to imagine that it really is a Pitbull, each and every of the even as misusing the call and giving it a foul rap. the position do you stay that that's happening? you could seem everywhere in the web and study the media mis labeling Pitbulls. it really is our species it truly is the placement. we are frightened of waht we do not realize and when we do not realize something we both cover from it or attempt to get rid of it. when we can no longer clarify it, it really is seen as "undesirable" or "incorrect" and categorised negatively. that's the case of Pitbulls and wolves. Why did settlers or perhaps human beings immediately kill off wolves? because they were afraid and uneducated and acted rashly hostile to them even as there became truly by no ability a situation. purely imagine about it human beings. truly of putting the society in worry of something they do no longer understand why doesn't the authorities attempt something new and surely educate us on it.

I think BSL is a Bull Sh*t Legislation!
Banning one breed or a few, is not going to end the dog attacks and fatalities. So the banning will continue until no breed is legal to own, and all dogs are wiped out.
BSL does not and will not work, because it is not the dog..it is the owner that is to blame!
As long as we have ignorant and irresponsible people (including back yard breeders) we will have dog attacks and problems.

I believe they should ban pit bulls only because over the years they have been bred for aggression and these traits can be passed on. Just because you raise a pit bull nicely doesn't erase inherent traits which may be present without an owner knowing. These aggressive traits can show up at any time and cause a dog to act out unexpectedly. You can not erase traits which are inherent no matter how you raise a dog. There are many cases of pits being raised in a loving home and then unexpectedly, without any apparent reason, they became aggressive and attack. I have personally seen many nice pits, but unfortunately, you cannot see into their minds and see if they have the aggressive traits or not. If someone can form a documented pure bloodline of pits that are proven over many years not to be aggressive, only then I will change my mind.

They already have a pit bull ban in my city. It doesn't seem fair--if you are going to ban one breed of large dog, then all large dogs should be banned.
By the way, I have never owned a pit bull, it just seems unfair to me (I have a Rottweiller).
