Dogs - November 2006

When ever I let her inside from going potty, she runs in and starts jumping on me! How do I calm her down?!

Oh, and today my cousin, brother and I were playin with Lily outside in the front yard and she yanked on her leaseh obviously SO HARD it fell off! Then she ran to the neighbors yard and every time i called her name, she WOULD NOT COME, until she marked her territory and then she listened. And also, she bites her leash and has already chewed 2 in half! HOW DO I MAKE HER LISTEN AND STOP BITING?!


Lily is a mutt, a mix of a beagle, dascaund, and some kind of fluffy butted dog. SHE IS 1. Thank you

My dog at the two advent calanders that I bought for my girls. Each one has 25 small pieces of chocolate in it. I know it takes a lot, but do I need to be concerned about the dogs health, other than the fact that I am really mad!

I have been asked to pet sit for 2 shihitzu dogs for 5 days, my duties would include feeding, walking them and checking on them at least 2 times a day and staying overnight at the house from 8pm til morning... how much should I charge? Any ideas??

Just got my 7month old Rotti a Kong ball. I thought it was as easy as stuffing the ball with some treats and he'll go crazy over it like other dogs. However, he's not really into it. Can you folks give me some advise on this please? Thank you.

My dog for 10 years, we let him outside and he hasent been seen for 5hrs....we went looking for him and i didnt see his dead body on the road or anything, any sign of him....he has never ran away from home or anything like that NEVER not once....i live in a subdivision also......My neihbor has a dog also.....Where could he be.....will he come back home (he has arthridus in his back leg so i dont think he would want to run away anyway because he has trouble sometimes walking and stuff)

my poodle was constantly scratchin her ear yesterday. I looked her over and found a flea on her head. I then went and purchased Hertz flea drops and put them on her. She was still scratchin today so i bought some Zodiac Fleatrol Shampoo which kills fleas on contact. After her bath whe was still scracthin. Any suggestions? (her ears were recently cleaned also)

i want to know if you're only supposed to use them if your dog has fleas. can it also be used/ is it normally used to prevent fleas? even if your dog doesn't have and never had any?

my dog,is very vary of my dad who has a deep voice. she looks at him until he makes a good move. If a work man comes to my house, my dog will bark, and growl and put her whole back up in fear, but she wont bite, she will just run away. please help i dont no why she does this.

I have a 11 week old german shepherd puppy, he kept me awake 3 nights in a row. I got so pissed, that i dragged him from his collar to the bathroom, so i don't have to hear him.
this is my first time treating him bad, I would appologize to him if I can.
I might have lost his trust, now how can I gain it back?

he was my dog for 5yrs then he went to live with my son because i could not exercise him enough to keep him healthy. He loved my son who died unexpectidly and he spent the last 12 hours with him alone in his home. when they found him the dog had to be put away before they could do anything. Now the dog(a mix of great dane and alaska shepherd. he weighs 110 lbs.) I just dont know how to help him get thru this trama its as bad for him as for me. I put one of my sons shirts and jackets in the tv room where I had him and he just crys and looks so confused. My daughter took him home with her because of my grandson who the dog loved and played with daily but it dosnt seem to help. I just dont know what else to do. It was suggested I send him away to be placed out of the area but I just can't do that. he was raised in my home and stayed in his home and slept in his bed with him and went everywhere with him. I haven't tried any drugs but will call the vet if I don't get any help here.
