My puppy is 3 months old and a German Shephard/Alaskan Malamute(sp?) mix. He is afraid of the leash and every time I try to put it on him, he howls and yelps like he is being killed or tortured and fights it with all his might. Once I get it on, he fights it SO hard that he chokes himself and he refuses to even try to let me lead him around with it or anything. How can I get him to stop being afraid of it and start to teach him how to be led properly?

Can a dog get mrsa (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) from a human? If so how dangerous is it for the dog? I have a very sick friend in the last stages of cancer that also has MRSA, he would love to see my dogs (Chihuahua & Daschund) one last time, but I'm concerned for their safety.

We just got a 4month old schnauzer puppy, I don't know how long it takes for her to adjust, or how normal it is for her to sleep most of the day. I don't think she is sick, her breeder had her vet checked before we bought her and she acts fine. Just depressed or sleepy.

Heinrich my St Bernard is causing me problems. He will insist in inclement weather in bolting out of the house and up into the mountains. He always drags back a tourist, camper or other hapless person who was in the hills. I love him to bits....but the continual court cases are draining me dry. Plus finding the odd body in the garden is off putting. The troop of boy scouts was the last straw. Can anyone help?

I have a 5yr old female lab/shepard cross who is very territorial and seems to be getting worst. She has bitten 3 dogs, no major wounds. If we take her to the kennel where there are other dogs, she seems fine. She is friendly with women, not men until she gets used to them and most children. My wife and I have had enough and are thinking of getting rid of her, but she is so attached to us. We have no idea what to do because the dog knows that she has done something wrong everytime. She will avoid us and go lay by herself for hours.

We don't have a crate but we have tried locking her in a room. The problem with that is when we go in there to check on her she gets over-excited. She tries to run and she has jumped a little. We are having a hard time keeping her settled down.

Whats the best way to introduce him to our cat? The cat has been the only animal of the house since he was a kitten (six years old now). How do you not traumatize the cat? How do you make it a smooth transition for both animals? Any suggestions?

They look like gizmo. The are small like chihuahuas but not yippy at all. One is very tiny, it fits in my hand and looks like a werewolf. Hopefully this description will help someone help me figure out what they are. I've been to all kinds of pics online and cannot figure out what they are. Thanks
