Have you tried using vinegar and water. Take one cup vinegar to one gallon of water and saturate the carpet where they went. It will neutralize the odor. You may have to repeat it.
After using the vinegar and water, try saturating the area with Nature's Miracle. Put a fan in the room to help dry it quicker.
Note: use white vinegar

You probably need to replace it. My little boy (dog) was peeing in my house. I tryed everything. I spent a lot of money on all sorts of stuff that is supposed to take out the smell and stains but nothing worked. Before you replace the carpet you need to do something to get the dogs to stop going in the house. Have you tried kenneling them when you are gone. I know it sounds mean, but it is actually good for the dogs, and they will not pee in a place that is so confined. Are they neutered (i assume they are boys) Because they are just trying to cover up each others scents. Fix the problem with peeing then replace the carpet. You may need to put down a new sub-floor under the carpet, because if the pee leaked into the wood, the smell will just come back. Also, is a room or area that you can block off? Because if you can that would help when it comes to training them.
good luck

If it has not seeped into the wood of your floor call yourself lucky! Your dogs need to be kenneled when you do not have time to watch them or more attention needs to be given your dogs.
Pull the carpet and the pad and throw it away if it is this bad...go get some sealant for that floor! You are not talking just carpet! All that stuff you have put on your carpet makes it garbage anyhoo. Get a professional in there when you do have the money and replace the carpet, seal the floor on your own or it will cost you more bucks....
Hopefully you are not a renter?
Good luck and you need to do something with the dogs or it will continue.....

There are enzyme cleaners but you may have to replace the rug and the flooring underneath. You can also wait and let it air out.
First thing though, is to train your dogs. As long as they are doing this, cleaning it does you no good. Get a good book or hire a trainer. Takes a couple of days but you have to be very, very firm and careful.
Right now, they smell it and think that's their bathroom. You need to make them understand otherwise.

it ought to be interior the vents, you would be able to ought to replace the duct artwork to the ingredient the place gravity would not have carried the pee. Ask your realtor, they have agencies they use to get the stink out of properties. Urine is stressful tho, yet you will get a low value black gentle to hit upon it as urine fluoresces. i admire Nature's Miracle, it particularly is risk-free and organic and does a reliable pastime. If the entire hose glows interior the black gentle, you have a plenty worse challenge. you would be able to ought to finally get the carpet and perhaps even sub flooring replaced tho. you ought to examine what challenge that carpet is in & how plenty you like it. It would not take long for attempting this redemy and that to attitude what you will have spent in case you purely provide in & replace it now. If the black gentle tells yous it particularly is allover, i'd provide in and make contact with your close by carpetland. I have not any thought what they spent, however the folk that offered the homestead around the line from me (that had undesirable puppy smell from 2 super ones) did all styles of issues and had it Stanley Steamed and ended up getting all of it replaced. The realtor had used some variety of spray they'd placed down a jiffy beforehand human beings would come to examine the homestead & it had a pair of case of Airwicks hidden all around it. apparently all that became short-term and purely lasted till the bought sign went up LOL!) reliable success!

You're going to have to clean not only the carpet, but also the padding, and possibly the flooring beneath - depending upon how long (how much) the dogs have been peeing there. If there is any scent left, it becomes a territory thing, and they will continue to "mark" there.
If your dogs are spayed or neutered, that would help immensely - especially if they are male - it's a "alpha" male - dominant dog thing.

Before you replace it call a carpet cleaning company, tell them what happened. They have some special solution that can get rid of it, and it will cost alot less than replacing it.

By now, I suspect you truly do not have any choice but to replace the rug: They sound like they've been soaked!
I'm sorry I don't have any better news for you.

First you have to train your dogs to go outside to do their business. Do this by rubbing their nose in the pee and put them outside and tell them to go . When they do their business outside praise them and keep it up for awhile to reinforce the behavior. Now get some cleaner with ammonia and clean up the smell
