Depends on what you're going for. Whatever you do, I'd not suggest the boxer. First off, they shed a lot. Second, they're high energy. Third, if you live in a sunny part of the country, they're especially prone to skin cancer, and fourth, they're generally unhealthy dogs.
Between labs and golden retrievers, I'd go with the golden retriever. The qualities inherant in labs and golden retrievers are almost the same (loyal, smart, friendly), but the golden retrievers tend to be a little less energy and they're less intimidating to people who don't like dogs. But they're both good breeds.

I think golden retrievers are the best, but that's my opinion. I think there the best because they are cute, loving, caring, fun, loyal, great family pets, loved to be played with, loved to be rubbed and patted ( especially under the belly ) and would protect you. The most reason I love them the best is because i grew up with golden retrievers. EVERY single dog i had was a golden retriever except for one, because we found her on the street. If we were buying, it most likely would of been a golden retriever. There was Rush, Bruto, Wallow and i have Sadie right now. Anyways I hope this helped.
Oh yeah there good with kids and love to lick you. If you do something they like, like petting them. And if you want a best friend, a golden retriever is PERFECT.

Golden retriever hands down. They are the easiest to trian because they are so eager to please (Just keep in mind, they don't come like that, you DO have to train them) As long as they are getting enough exercise they are pretty calm, and they have very good insticts about when you are truly in danger. They're very tolerant and great with kids.
Standard poodles are my personal favorites (goldens being a very close 2nd) They are higher maintance, but they are full of personality and are beautiful when kept up.
Just a side note about labs...They are currently overbred, just like the cockers were in the late 70's-early 80's. I've seen a lot of nutty and/or aggresive ones in the last few years.

You really need to find what you need in a dog and go from there. All dogs are basically the same in nature with regards to humans. If you just want a friend all 3 are great. But for the best friend and loyalty NOTHING BEATS A MUTT! Plus in general they are healthier and less trips to the vet. Pure breeds have more problems.

I like Labs, and golden retrievers out of the choices above. My personal favorites are Brittany spaniels. I have always had them(since the age of 6 months). they are really great dogs and love human and other dog interaction. They aren't very popular, but are good show dogs and hunters as well. :)

Lab! I have a yellow lab mix (unsure of what the mix is) and he is a great dog. I did not like dogs at all until I met him. I would tolerate other peoples dogs but never considered owning one myself until him. He is very friendly and playful. He is not aggressive and has a wonderful personality. He is pretty smart and not to difficult to train. He was 7 months old when I got him and had been abandoned by his previous owner, so I really did not know what training he had had.

if i had to choose i would choose boxer.
unless the Labrador is going to be active and walking around all day it will get really overweight and unhealthy which could cost you allot of money.
golden retrievers are ok for some people but can be quite slow and lazy and may become a real boring pet.
the boxer will be a real person dog and keep you happy all the time.

out of those three i would say #2 because they are well mannered and good natured, now my 2 personal favorites are black Pomerania's, and basset hounds, i like the pomeranian because they are just fun to be around, but they are hard to train to go to the bathroom inside so if you want a dog that will be train to go to the bathroom inside i do not recommend a pomeranian, but if you can find another dog that knows how to go inside then the pomeranian will follow that dog, and learn to do what the other dog has done
bassit hounds are good and if you get one as a puppy they are the cutiest things ever, they are also hard to train though they are not like palm.s they will not folow their partner, we are kennel training our bassit hound and it seems to be working pretty good.
another dog that i forgot to mention a dog called Great Pereneze
they are the greatest dog that you could possibly have they are big, we have one and she is sweet and she will play with you, and everything but she has to have room to run around and everything. she plays with our other dogs and she doesn't seem to hert them, it's just she has got such a good personality.
well the first two are inside dogs, the bassit hound is inside when young but outside when older the palm. is inside at all times he will run away if you don't have a fence. and the Great Pareneze is outside mostly but comes in sometimes, at least with us it can go different with you. hoped i helped you in your decision
