Check with your animal shelter and see if he might be in the pound. If he was wandering around, they might have picked him up and put him in the pound. If he isn't at the pound, I would start to wonder if someone might have taken him. If he has been your dog for 10 years, he will come back home because he needs you and you only. If he doesn't return, he has been picked up by the pound or someone has stolen him. I hope you find your dog. I don't know what I would do without my dog. He has been a lifesaver for me. Good luck.

Put the neighborhood on alert by putting out some signs with a picture of your dog. Talk to your neighbors and ask them to keep an eye out for your pet. Check the local pounds, and drive around your neighborhood, especially the parks.

In my own personal experence,, yes, they do. My german shepherd cross , Shadow, was the most awesome dog, I have ever owned. I had her for 12 yrs and one day she ran off, we searched EVERYWHERe for her. Finally found her lying in the middle of a cow pasture and she wouldnt come when I called her. I went over and got her, brought her home and within 3 days. she ran off again, and we never found her. My vet said, some dogs will run off to die.
Im sorry, I sure do hope you find your dog,,,....

Some times older dog's are sicker than you realize and go off to a better world. I hope for your sake I am wrong, but just in case I feel I should tell you this. Yes, they do care that much.

Just remain calm (if possible). Check with your local pound to see if he's there. Also ask your neighbors if they've seen him and to keep an eye out for him.
