I've noticed that dogs always run squint: the hips are never in line with the shoulders but are off to one side. Presumably that's so that the back legs don't crash into the front at full tilt.

Question is, do they always squint the same way? I think I've only ever seen (looking from behind) hips to the left, shoulders to the right. I assume that's a "right pawed" dog. Are there "left-pawed" dogs?

My friends dog is not drinking or eating. She says its vomit smells like motor oil. Im wondering if a dog would drink that on its own?(most dumb animals would-in theory) and/or anti freeze.
I know dogs love antifreeze. It could smell like oil if it was used and came out of a car that has a head gasket problem. And a dog would drink that no problem im sure.
She cant take it to a 24 hour vet as she lives in countryville tx, usa... there isnt one around. Ive heard of things removing poison like charcoal, would giving the dog some of this, OR ANYTHING else help draw the poison? What about snaking a tube and forcing water? im sure IV is better...
I know there isnt much she can do.. at this point..but figured why not ask if there are any "home remedy" or natural solutions to this IF you get it quick enough. Im sure this dogs fate is sealed, but itd be good to know, as this seems to be a trend this year.
Thanks

His dog is 14, and was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Since being put on crafate and pepcid, he has had no further bleeding, but is crying with pain over what is presumed to be arthritis. He is stiff. Vet is giving him codeine and amantadine. My BF is trying to do everything to get this dog to hang in there. I made a vague reference to euthanasia, and was harshly scolded. Then he is telling me I am being hostile. All this recent lashing out is baffling, as I have tried only to be supportive (my dog was euthanized last week, on the 31st.). I said to him that he tended to lash out when severely upset or worried about anything, and he hung up on me. I hate when he hangs up on me. He was very angry with me. I only meant to tell him that I am trying to be supportive, and to ask him to understand that I am still grieving my dog, but to please not take it out on me? I think he needs to let the dog go, and that he is in denial. It's hard to watch him...Is all this normal? Hurts!

This started about a week and a half ago. The registers are located in the walls close to the ceiling. He does it in more than one room. He seems agitated and worried all the time since it started.

My young children are generally gentle with the dog (heeler/corgi mix). She does not seem to mind being handled by them, but with all these stories of kids getting killed by dogs, I kind of get worried! Are there warning signs that the dog would flip out at my kids?

One of my new puppies has a hard lump on its neck. It didnt have this 2 days ago, but I didn't pick it up yesterday, so I don't know if it develope yesterday or today. It is on the left side, kinda in the front. It is hard and doesn't mush in. It doesn't appear to have an entry place, like if it were a bite of some kind. It almost looks like it would be some type of abcess or boil. Any ideas what this could be? Since this puppy is with the mother and its litter mates, I can't imagine that it would be a bug bite.

I just bought this puppy last week. He is 3 1/2 month old. A pure breed lhasa apso. My family and i wants to play with him. but he always sleeping. he only wakes up when its time to eat, pee & poo.. & if he wants to transfer from one place to another. He's not playful like other puppies that i've encountered. But he is affectionate specially when we're going to sleep at night he wants lay next to me. He has no teeth in front and gums, i don't know if it had fall out in his previous months or not. i haven't hear him bark yet. We already bring him to vet & gave him complete shots. His eating habits is normal as well as the vowel movement. I'm just worried about his behavior. Why he is always asleep? my friends told me its normal to be like that until he reaches 6 months old, because he is still growing, & they say Lhasa apsos are late bloomer. sounds true for me. but i'm still bothered. can you give some advice there guys? why is my puppy always asleep? is that really normal? HELP ME OUT

She is 4 yrs. old and is a Rescue dog. She was used as a breeder dog and had two litters. She has this odd habit, when playing with a soft, stuffed dog toy, of grabbing a piece of it in her mouth and gently chewing and at the same time the little front paws are flexing almost like kittens do when they nurse. I'm just curious what this means. Has anyone ever had a dog that did this?
