I have two dogs, one larger and 11yo fem, one smaller and 13yo fem, the larger of the two attacks her without being provoked, they have been living together for over a year now without incident. The smaller of the two is losing her eyesight, does that play a factor?

What level of training does your dog have? (basic obedience, advanced obedience, property protection, personal protection on a family or executive level, sentry dog, tracking, naurcotics) Who did the training? How far would you be willing to take the training or how much further would you want to go? When you bought your dog, what was your intention for him/her? (companion, family dog, personal protection dog, property protection, service dog) Tell me your stories. I want to know what your opinions on the training you received.

basic obedience = sit, down, stay, come, all on leash

advanced obedience = sit, sit/stay, down, down/stay, here, come, heal, all off leash

Ok, I asked another question about getting a Chihuahua for my 8 and 10 year old daughhter. But, based on some of the answers I'm becoming very hesitant. First, someone said that they do not do well around boisterous kids...my kids are boisterous lol. Second, someone mentioned that they tend to bark alot. My husband would not be happy with that! I'd like some suggestions on dogs that would be suitable for my kids. They want a small dog...they have specifically requested a brown and white Chihuahua, their cousin has one. So, what is a dog comparable to a Chihuahua in size and looks but would be better for them? if any...

He had the lump when we got him, but it looks a little strange. It doesnt seem to bother/ irritate him either. It is not a tiny bump, but rather a teeny bit smaller than a bouncy ball i guess. I was just curious, and im tired of my fiance telling me that it's a tumor.

We were given a maltese and the owners havent mentioned how old she is apart from that they think she may be about 13. If this is so, how long can we expect her to live?

I lifted his tail and it was caked with poop and his rectum looked red and protruded. I have given him 3 baths with an oatmeal medicated soap I purchased last year (he is prone to dry skin). He is now moving around on his bottom like it is itching him. Two days ago he would not eat, and his stomach was making all kinds of noises. He ate yesterday and seemed fine. He was angry with me tonight for all the bathing but happily ate his dinner. Do you think this requires a vet visit? I have pet hydrocortisone spray that I was considering spraying the area with. Any ideas on what this could be or remedies you might have tried?

Saturday we got a new puppy. Today, 3 days later, she woke up w/ red bumps on her face, red hands, feet, & legs; none on her stomach or chest and only a little bit on her lower back. She stayed at my mom's house today, who also has a dog, took some benadryl, and was fine. Tonight, at our house, she has broke out again. So... is she allergic to dogs? Or maybe just our dog? Is it possible to grow out of? What else could it be? I've haven't changed anything else.

I don't know if it is possible because my dog is pretty much a push over, but she learns very well. Everyone I know say that she listens very well and is the best trained dog they've ever seen. I just wondered if I could train her to attack if I need her to do so (robber with gun/that sort of thing). How would I begin training? Could I keep her temperment the way it is now or should I expect her to be less effectionate and sweet?

I believe that bites USUALLY occur because the way the owner handles/trains the dog, but SoMeTiMeS this isn't the case. I'm asking people to list what breed(s) of dogs they believe to be the most vicious. I personally don't like Akitas. They're beautiful dogs, but when they get angry, they get crazy... lol that rhymed.. by the way, I said Akitas, because I've been around many different breeds of dogs, including Pit Bulls and the only one to attack me was and Akita. I was 12.. lol THANKS!!

I know that it's not December yet, not even thanksgiving, but my friend was making a christmas list for her parents, and so i did. I put that i wanted a dog and i was talking to my mother about it and we were talking about cocker spaniels. We decided that i should go online to find out the prices of them so i could help save up money, or she could think about it, and i wanted to know if anyone lives in the state of New York that has just bread cocker spaniel puppies and that might happen to have a blonde female that is purebread and ready to take right before christmas. If you do, how much would it cost. If not do u have any suggestions on where to look for the prices and places of cocker spaniel puppies?

Don't get me wrong, I love my pooch. It's just that with two cats ready for war and twenty-eight pigeons that are so tempting to chase, he causes mass chaos. As a matter of fact, he knocks over everything from the garbage can to me to my computer tower. How do I tame the mongrel without breaking his neck?
