We were given a maltese and the owners havent mentioned how old she is apart from that they think she may be about 13. If this is so, how long can we expect her to live?

You can get a general guess by their teeth. As far as guessing how long she will live that's about impossible. It depends on her health now, it depends on how well she was treated in the past, etc.

You can get a guess of the dogs age by his/her teeth. This would include a visit to a vet. Malteses live to be either 17 or 18. This has to do with how healthy the dog is. You should definately see your veternarian if you want the closest answer possible.

Good luck with your new dog!

If she's 13 she could live 5 more years. They can live to 17 or 18. Take it to a vet if you want to know how old it is for sure.

Smaller dogs live longer than big dogs.

13 years.. and a maltese... small dogs usually live longer than larger ones for some reason, so i would say anywhere from 2-5years maybe a couple more years, depending on her health.

Small dogs live longer than large dogs. She could live another 4 or 5 years, maybe older. Is she in good health now?
