What is the filling usually used in a dog bed? And where to get the fillings?

I recommend using cedar chips for the filling, which you can get at a pet supply store. They keep it smelling fresh and fleas don't like the smell. Also, if you put a layer of polyester fiber fill, puchased at the craft store, it will add some softness to the bed.

I've always heard cedar is best because it repels insects like fleas, ticks, mosquitos, etc., and doesn't get that wet dog smell when the dog has been outside.

As for where to get the fillings...depending on the size of the dog/dog bed. Walmart sells cedar chips but for economy, go to a feed store.
