Just because your puppy isn't pooping out visible worms doesn't mean she still doesn't have them. She probably just pooped out the ones that were pretty much at the end of their lives. Since you're taking her to the Vet - and thank you for doing that - bring a small sample of her morning poo with you (use a zip-lock baggy to pick it up) The vet will run tests to see if she has worms - and if so, which type - and to what extent. While you're there - ask about a good obedience class you can put her it. Believe me, 8 weeks spent on a good citizen class will be worth every dime and every moment spent. And don't forget to spay her.

All puppies have worms & need to be dewormed. You can take dog to the vet for meds or you can buy the liquid type @ the store but follow directions!! Add to a little bit of food according to the dogs weight. The way to determine the weight is by having someone stand on a scale with the pup,,then deduct the persons weight.Like if I was 100 lbs & the reading is 110,,that means the pup weighs 10.That is just an example. The store med usually requires a second dose so like I said,,follow directions. Now when a dog is older & has worms,,I would suggest taking it to the vet where they can test a sample to determine what type of parasite it is.Some cannot be seen with the naked eye.If a dog is eating alot more than usual &/or having dierria,,that is probably the case. The vet would not be expensive for the treatment of worms. If you have any other questions about your dog,,feel free to e-mail me (anyone).

the puppy is in need of a vet.their are several different types of worms,if the puppy is pooping them out,it is most likely tape worm, which the animals get from a infected flea that bites them.the tape worms are treated with two pills one taken right away and the other 21 days latter.the pills are a heavy does of a worm antibiotic so puppy may not want to eat for a day or so after the pills, just make sure he has plenty of water though.

Go to the store and get some puppy wormer. There are directions on the bottle. Make sure you repeat the dose as it says to be sure they are completely gone. Dogs get worms from sniffing dog poop. It goes in through their nose and they can get them over and over again so be sure you are cleaning up the dog poop every day- at least until you get the worms cleared up. Get the medicine soon since worms in a puppy can cause severe sickness if left untreated. Good Luck.

I seem to be getting all kinds of bad ratings but my dog had worms and this is the info I was given by my vet. I was TOLD to give my puppy dewormer from the store. The medicine worked and my dog is fine. Depending on where you live dogs should be wormed twice a year. I don't know why people freak out if you don't think they need to run off to the vet with every little thing. Worms are very common in puppies and easily treated. When you take your puppy in for shots they can check for tapeworm and heartworm but since your dog is young it is more than likely round and hookworms- which are easily treated over the counter.

How a dog gets infected by worms depends on the kind of worms the dog has. There are a lot of different kinds of worms that live in dogs. All of these kinds of worms are called parasites because they feed off the dog instead of living on their own. These are not worms like earthworms; parasite worms have to get inside a dog to reproduce.

The most common ones in dogs are roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, tapeworms, and heartworms. Roundworms and hookworms are found a lot in puppies and sometimes in adult dogs. Whipworms, tapeworms, and heartworms are seen more in older dogs.

Take the puppy to the vet RIGHT AWAY.

It's sick! It probably has worms somewhere in his system so you have to take your puppy to the vet or else it's condition could get worse. Who knows how long your puppy's had worms?

Tapeworms come from dogs eating fleas. Take your puppy to the vet so they can determine what treatment is needed. They will advise you on what else you can do to eliminate this problem.

Best wishes.
