Hey, why do people hate Rotties so much. I have to say one thing, any dog will turn if in wrong hand, I love my Rottie, its people like some of you on here that judge ALL rotties as the same nasty breed. If you dont have a Rottie, then DONT complain about an animal you DO NOT UNDERSTAND. My boy has been brought up correctly and WELL under control. THANK YOU

I took him to the vet a couple of days back , and they diagnosed that he had a fever and allergies.Gave him medication for it. But he is acting very scared and paranoid around the house. Stares at empty spots, will NOT sleep on his pillow, does not like being left alone, very hyper , looks like he's scared and nervous. Has never been taught to get on the furniture, but yesterday when my husband and I got back from work he was sitting on the couch in my spot and this morning he was in my husband's chair!!
What is wrong with him. He seems very nervous and cautious about everything. Just not acting like himself at all. We don't think he's spooked by anything, coz he's a brave dog and would have gotten over it in a few hours if so . PLEASE HELP !

What kind of dog shampoo or remedy should I use on a St. Bernard to make its fur silky without causing its hot spots? ( He sometimes gets hot spots when I bath him with baby shampoo. I always blow dry him.)

I have a chihuahua and she seems to have an unhealthy obsession for mounting my arm. Yes she is a girl but she loves to just clamber on. Any ideas to dissolve this hobby my pooch seems so fond of? Having her spayed is not an option coz she is tiny and it is too risky, setting her up on a blind date is also not an option coz again she is too small to carry pups!

I have a dog (lab/spaniel mix) who is 13 yrs old. She had a seizer in August and has not been the same since. I took her to the emergency vet when she had the seizer, the vet says she probably has a brain tumor. She did a lot of blood work that all came back good. Since the seizer the dog has not been the same. She seem to be getting older right before my eyes. Her legs are week and she trembles. I have been giving her Rimadal for her arthrtis, but it only seems to help a little. I know the time is approching that we will need to put her down. How do I prepare my son? I have talked to him about it, explained that we can not allow her to suffer,he understands this, but when the time comes, do I tell him I am taking her and let him say goodbye? I know this will break his heart. Or do I just take her in while he is in school and tell him she was in bad shape and it was time? I have never had to handle this type of situation before. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I'll be meeting my puppy for the first time - she's 3 weeks old - and still with her litter. Is there a certain protocol I should follow?

I got a 5 1/5 week old girl Maltese pup from a reputable breeder in Australia. I don't know much about the breed and stuff. I need help. How much do I need to walk and groom her? I don't have a lot of time to play with her because I am only 20 and I hang with my friends a lot. When she is older, I can take her for a max. of 20 minute walk every 2 days.

I am going to buy another Maltese puppy and breed them - is this a good idea? I need some professional breeders to give me advice on breeding them. I don't want it for the money, that's just a 'topping' on the cake really.

OK so, all I have is a small crate for her, a few toys and some food and a collar. What else do I need? How often do I groom her?

Remember, I am still young, I live on my own in a small apartment, so, I can not groom her for long.

ALL COMMENTS APPRECIATED.

I took her last week, friday 21,06 to vet to confirm a pregnancy. She just did not seem rounded. She is large and a little overweight. The vet palpated at what I thought was 50 days prgnant, she said she believes, but took and xray, no skulls, she thought pyometra because uterus is enlarged. and wanted to spay her. I did not think she had that and was right. I drew her blood for a couple of days post and no elev wbc or any symptoms of pyometra, Anyways I took her a week early she was about 41 day.
I saw first bleeding 4 sept, took her to stud on 8-11 sep. We believe our own dobie had had her after?

She's almost 6 months and he's a little over 3 months. The vet said she could get pregnant now even though my male is so young. He also said if she got pregnant under a year that it could be dangerous. He said it would stunt her growth amongst other potentially serious health risks. Is this all true? We keep them together so it'll be hard to keep them separate.
