My kids brought a kitten home from school and I assumed it was male because its a orange tabby But the other day we noticed he was a she. She has the basic tabby markings here's a pic of her, it's not great but it shows the rings on her tail and frount legs. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/witchgirl415/cats/orangepeel2.jpg
Can any one tell me how common a orange female tabby is? Just incase, No, I am not going to breed her, I know orange on orange can produce orange females but what is the chance's? 50%, 20% etc...

Which is easier: Toilet training your cat/kitten or litter training your cat/kitten? Why is it easier? How'd you do it?

What do you do when your cat does something you do not approve of? like knocking down the small Christmas tree or scratching a kid or knocking off ornaments or trying to eat the lights?

Prior to being spayed she was very affectionate, playful, and mischeivous. Since she has returned from the vet she spends all of her time under any large peice of furniture she can (beds, couch, love seat). She doesn't come out to eat unless you sit the food a foot from the bed (we have decided not to put it under there with her in hopes she'll come out on her own) and she has only used the litter box ONCE since then. We have a very active and hyper cocker spaniel as well as a male adult cat in the house as well. Is my cat's behaviour normal following this surgery and should we just wait it out or is there something bigger going on here? Thanks!

We jus got brand new 2 month old kitten, just got few questions for people. 1. kitten keeps nipping and scratching (not hard), im guessing this is normal. 2. kitten is shaking abit when i stroke it, im guessing again this jsut means its not yet adjuested to myself or family. 3. The kitten keeps going down back of sofa and under really small gaps and then goes to sleep, shud i close off all these places or let the cat sleep under sofa etc?? PLEASE REPLY!

She is female, about 6 years old, very outgoing, loves to cuddle and play. Good mouser, small but agressive towards bigger cats. I used to call her Tiger, but the name just wasn't right. Any ideas?

Hey, I have a 1 year old cat, she is soooo spoilt. and i love her to death. I live with my family by the way, and she's always around us, goes out for a few hours during the day and spends the rest of the time with us. she even sleeps in my bed etc. and sometimes we're in a room and she thinks we're not home she starts moaning and crying, until i start calling her and she know's one of us is home, then she's ok.

We have to go on a 2 week trip with the family and im scared of leaving her behind. I could get my grandmother to stay at my house.. but im still worried. would she be ok? How do 'really spoilt cats' usually deal with these situations?

My sister and I have cats that are sisters...and we argue about which one is cuter and which one is ugly. SO. Which one?! We need an unbiased opinion. A or B?!?!

I am currently feeding my cats Iams dry food. It is on the costly side and from what I am told very rich. I would like to switch to another quality dry food that is less expensive. I would like to feed my cats Authority dry food. Has anyone heard anything positive or negative about this brand?

Ok, Well, thanks to Christmas, i have TWO sick cats in my home, and they can't see a vet until Wed. because i live in a very isolated small town,(montana) and we just don't have a 24 hour emergency vet like i did in south carolina.
Here's the problem!!!
Monday I took Bleu to the vet, he had thrown up, and it was time for his boosters shots, vet gave it to him, he was fine played with Symba for the rest of the afternoon, no prob.
Well, tues. Symba started vomiting...again, Symba was due for shots wed. got them was fine. Well, Yesterday they apparently started a vomit war, and me at work, did not know this until i came home to a house covered in puke. Well, now i have two sick cats, and no vet until like i said wed. they have been on the same cat food since weaned and now just cant keep it down, its starting to come out filmy liquidy type vomit, and i have a 9 month old baby i dont need around this....WHAT DO I DO?????

I am an avid Warriors RPer, and I was looking for a pic of a dark tortoiseshell cat with deep, green eyes. No lighter spots on the pelt, and not fat with a collar, either.

Unless someone can change the eye color of a pic I have found...? Not the crappy sort of choppy change, but a well-rounded amber to emerald eye color change.

His appetite has increased dramatically over the last month and he does not appear to be gaining any weight (it is scary). All his other habits appear normal. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks, Dee

The last few days, he's been eating everything he can (wrappers, attacking my packets of gum...anything).

But this morning, he was curled up in a corner. He walked a few steps and it was almost like watching stop-motion photography. Particularly in his hind legs, which are very weak and bent and stiff-ish.

I recently got a siamese kitten from a breeder that had him on mostly Friskies wet food and dry food.

I've been weaning him off it and giving him Purina kitten dry chow most of the day and mixing a little of the wetfood with it at night, so his tummy is upset and he's been havng diarrhea.
She gave him his last wormer before we took him home, but I think it's from the food change not the wormer.

What dry food is best for sensitive kitten tummies?

My cat has an area on her back just in front of her tail that she has been biting and trying to scratch so much that the skin in that area is scabbing and she's losing the hair there. I'm going to take her to the vet but I won't be able to go until next week. Does anyone know what could be causing this? It is localized specifically to that area and the area on the underside of her tail just above her rear end.

Our cat has always been really well behaved. She instantly adapted to her litterbox as a kitten. In the past month she has decided to start peeing in our bedroom (on stuff, like if we leave a sweatshirt on the floor or something), and peed on our beanbag.

I've caught her two times recently, and scolded her and put her outside both times (one was today- the beanbag again). She also is relentlessly scratching our new couches, and won't give it up. Our other cat learned this wasn't acceptable within a week of when we got them (we would carry her to her scratching post and tell her to scratch that instead), but our younger one is still doing it.

She has been spending more time outside than usual- could that be a part of it?

She doesn't have any signs of a UTI so although I'm remaining cautious, I think this is just a behavioral issue.

She does this when her litter box is clean- it's not that either.

What should we do???

Okay, we have had our cat Emmaline fixed a week ago. She is very lazy and for some strange reason WILL NOT quit chewing on a certain plant. when you got your cat spayed did it become lazy ? or do you think the plant is making my precious cat sick?
