My cat is really jumpy and is a bag of nerves and I hate to see her like this. She has been treated like a queen and acts like one too (lol) but she has always been like this. Is there a way how I can change this ?

We have also got a new kitten who bugs the heck out of her. So could stress cause her weight loss? She was not in any means an over weight cat she weighed 10 lbs and now you can feel many of her bones sticking out and you can tell just by looking at her that she is super thin. She has always been healthy and my other 3 cats are fat. So what is going on?

I have an orange tabby named Emmett. He is just over 4 years old. Besides from being the cutest orange tabby in the world, as well as the smartest, he also hides a hidden desire to take over the world. He tells me his plans in a series of meows and chirps.

When the time arrives for this force of power, his one weakness is crackers. It may be our only hope.

I feed 3 feral cats who hang out in my neighborhood, and occasionally they'll bring me a small dead animal and put it by my feet or on the porch. They never let me pet them or touch them, but they let me get really close. They're kind of b*tchy to be honest, and ungrateful that I'm feeding them. I don't mind feeding them because I love animals but these cats aren't friendly at all. They hiss at me even when I bring them food sometimes. Sometimes they do bring me dead animals though and I was wondering what it meant. I'm sure they mean something by doing that?

How is advantage used on a kitten... My cats have fleas for the first time and i want to use advantage to treat them. on the petmeds website it is sold by packs of 4, 6, and 12. My question is how much do you use on a less than 10 lb kitten to kill the fleas. For example if i get a 4 pack, do i use all four on the kitten or is it used one every month for four months.

Btw, i have 2 kittens less than 10 lbs, and they are 5 months old and they both have fleas.

My family and I just got a new german shepherd puppy, and my cat is not too happy about it. Every time she sees him she hisses at him, her hair stands up, and it would not be unlikely for her to claw him. We already had one german shepherd when we got her as a kitten, and she did fine with him. I don't know what to do, and I do not want her to claw his face and get his eyes on accident. What do you suggest???

Hi there,
We had an emergency dash to the animal hospital this morning as the mother was shaking and meowing out of the ordinary, and after a blood test it was shown she has eclampsia (lack of calcium)
She has been on a good diet, but the 5 kittens she had are literally sucking the nutrients out of her when feeding.
The kittens are 5 weeks old, they are on solids and are slowly getting into the litter tray. But i find that they are wanting to feed off mum as a way to go to sleep and for a calming effect. Its easy to say to seperate them.. but she goes insane and ruins our doors with the scratching!
She has to be fed kitten food and quite regularly to get her calcium levels up but she wont stop feeding them.
What do i do?

I live in a studio apartment, so he can pretty go wherever he choses when I am not around. I am home every evening, I play with him when I am there, and change his litter box more frequently than I need to. I do not want to get rid of him, but I get sick of finding surprises in my bed every week or so.

if a cat has killed off my plants/damaged my property can i phone the police and pursue the cats owner through the courts?

IE does the Criminal Damage Act 1971 cover me? after all if the cats owners had controll of their pet then it wouldn't have done anything?

My boyfriend and I pulled up into our driveway of our house. As we were pulling in we noticed an animal cage on the sidewalk in front of our house. We went to go look at it and there were two cats in the animal cage next to a liter box, cat food, and liter stuff (the pebble stuff).
So we went to the building next to our house (8 units) knocked on a few doors. Found the old owners of the cats they said "they are not ours anymore, we do not want them". My boyfriend was pissed off and told them "you can't just leave live animals in a cage on the sidewalk, that is wrong!!!".

Well we took the cats and brought them into our house. The girl (old owner, teenager) came to our house saying "you have a problem with us" and I told her yeah "it is illegal to leave live animals outside in a cage on the sidewalk," "you are trash, you cannot leave live animals caged on a sidewalk, normal people bring them to a shelter or give them to someone else!" I was and still am POed. I have never never

My roommate brought home a 5 year old 23 lbs male cat and wasted no time in introducing them while I was away. My cat is a 2 year old, 8 lbs male cat who really wanted a friend. Issue is that the older cat is in a new space, and is scared, and will hiss and growl at my cat when he tries to make friends. They are already sharing the same area, and both refuse to leave.

There are no territory issues, as the resident cat wants more than anything to make a friend, but the big brute cat will have nothing to with him at this time. Since the introducion process was not done at all, how can I make the situation a bit better? It is heartbreaking to hear my cat softly mewing and trying to nuzzle this huge beast of a cranky cat, and have the huge beast of a cat hiss and growl at him. Re-homing is not an option, as the large cat came from a friend who moved to non-pet housing.

my Uncle has a siamese thats 15 years old and i really know a lot about animals and i study them really...but i really think their cat is going blind really bad...i know how to tell if a dog is blind but i really havent studied much on blind cats...but heres what their cats eyes look like...well since shes a siamese her eyes are already blue (i know dogs turns kinda foggy gray) but her pupils are completly open even in the bright light...and my uncle and his wife said shes been walkin around their house meowing a lot more as if shes lost...and shes been missing the litter box a lot and sometimes she doesnt even get close to the litter box she sometimes goes in another room...when u pick her she squals like u startle her...oh and she walks kinda stiff so i think she might have athritis...but im pretty sure she is blind or atleast almost blind...but i wondered if someone owns a blind cat or anything if they could tell me how theirs is...

My cats have terrible fleas. I know it is a long process to get rid of them and we are doing everything we can. Combs, baths, we even used a fogger on the house. Its a battle we will continue to fight, but thats not my concern.
Our kitten, Stewart [5 weeks] has little red bulbous sacks on his tummy. Almost like pimples. At first we thought it was a nipple, but then after his bath we could see them for real. Any ideas on what this might be?

I seem to have the ability to get cats that the owners have said don't like to be petted and especially picked up, and yet everytime the cat allows me to pet it AND pick it up. It leaves the owners shocked, and they always say, "Oh my God! He/she never lets anyone pick him/her up, they always fight and run away. I can't believe it, look she's holding him/her!" Am I considered a "cat whisperer"? Can somebody tell me whether or not I truly am a crazy cat lady; or, that I do have a special connection\powers with them?

I have cared for a stray cat who was pregnant. I allowed mother with newborns to stay inside. After 2 months, I put all cats outside. Shortly after I kept one of the kittens as a pet. The others were adopted and the mom became pregnant again. She is no longer fed and cared for by me. Still pregnant, whenever the mother comes near her kitten she hisses at her. Why is this?
