could be he is loosing his kitten energy so he is less active, make sure you spend time playing with him a couple of times a day....use a laser light or a string toy (make sure you put the string toy away when you are not using it)

Many cats become calmer as they get older, he may not be actually unhappy in any way. If there are no other signs of something being wrong (eating and going to the bathroom normally) I wouldn't worry about it. I'd like to commend you on keeping him an indoor kitty as it's a dangerous world out there for pets. You could get him new cats toys from time to time and see if that helps.

Has this happened suddenly, or has he always been like this? Lethargy can be a first sign of illness, but if he's always been like it I would say it's just his personality. Is he eating and drinking as normal? Peeing and pooing as normal? Any signs of pain or restlessness?

If you think the cat might be ill, take him to a vet.

It could be just his personality. Some cats just aren't "the life of the party"!!!
Do you have lots of toys, scratch towers/poles for him and try giving a pinch of cat n i p.
He's probably just a laid-back cat.

If your kitty needs meds then get up off your lazy butt and get them! Take him to the VET! Your cat is obviously in pain and is trying to hide it. That's what cats and dogs do since in the wild the sick and old become prey to predators, so it is ingrained in them to hide any weakness. And you would KNOW that if you'd bother to have done your homework!!

TO THE VET!
