I'm thinking about getting a cat, but I really don't know where to put the litterbox. Is it gross to have it in your living room? I really don't have any place to keep it discreet.

The love of my life is a beautiful cat named Oscar who will be 14 in Oct. About 3 weeks ago his eye started looking bad & his cheek swelled up. I took him to the E-Vet where they took 6 cc's of pus out of his cheek. They also told me to have our regular vet give him a check-up. When I took him to do so he wouldn't let the vet anywhere near him. He was hissing & throwing a fit & our vet just said she thought he might have an abcess tooth & she wants to remove it which means he'd have to be put under anesthetic. I asked her if that was safe to do at his age & she said it would be a big risk but she felt it was best. So its been two weeks and his appointment is in 7 days & he's acting perfectly normal. He eats fine & is feeling good & I wonder if its even worth risking. She didn't even look at his teeth just assumed that was the problem. I'm terrified he'll die for nothing. Has anyone had this problem or have any advice to help me decide if I should go through with it or not? Please help!

Hi,
Like I said earlier, I am taking care of my neighbor's two cats while they are on vacation, which includes cleaning the litter box. It really smells awful. It didn't smell this bad when they left, but now it's disgusting. Please help!!

I am feeding my mum's cats while she is on holiday, and one of them is looking really thin. I am not sure if I should take her to the vets or not. She is only a year old. Any advice please?

OK so about a month ago a got an 8 week old kitten. The lady I got it from said she was box trained and I brought her home. Well I also have a 7 month old male cat and he uses his litter box perfectly fine. because I had to work I didnt want to leave the kitten alone with my older cat so I confined my kitten to my bedroom with a small litter box to use untill we were sure the two would get along and they could use the same. Well when Id get home id let her out and my older cat would want to use her litter box. she would still use it so she obviously had no problem using them same litter box another cat used. Well we just moved and now we have a huge litter box with a roof big enough for mulitply cats to use. It is alwasy kept clean. Our older cat will use it but my kitten wont she will pee and poop all around it and no where else. Its not like she doesn tlike wehre its at. Iv tryed evrything. Shes 12 weeks old now. I got to break her from this habit before she gets bigger.....

My Cat Jack, is about 8 Months Old. He seems to love the sound of paper ripping. He often gets up on the counter and starts biting into a roll of paper towels, and the shreds them. Why does he do this? And How can I make him stop!

I'm still brainstorming ideas about a comic I'm thinking of making, but the main cat character gets sick with a cold. The problem is, I don't really know if cats can get the type of cold with the stuffed nose and sneezing as main symptoms. I know they can get a stomach bug with a minor fever (Sandy had that a bit after I got her) I'm trying to get some realisim with what cats can and can't do in my comics so I was just wondering.

(I just make comics for fun, not profesonaly)

My cat had an over-active scent gland in his tail, which caused a cyst to develope on his tail. We took him to the vet and he gave us some medication to give him. He also told us to get him fixed. We have done everything he told us to and the cyst has cleared up, the only problem is he has a huge bald spot on his tail. I was wondering is there anything I can do to promote hair growth, or will his tail be like that for the rest of his life?

I saw this documentary on people who take their cats to Cat Shows. The cats DID NOT look happy. They were being held in weird positions, being brushed over and over, given baths every week, travelled by car and plane.

I never realized this happened, but I felt horrible for the cats. The cats were biting the judges and running away.

Did anyone see that documentary? I think it is kind of cruel.

Yesterday my cat was fine in the morning but in the evening the bottom of her mouth, I guess you could say chin, was really swollen and she is drooling. The drool is kinda thick and stringy and she gets irritated if you touch around her mouth. She is also in a bad mood. It looks the same today. I was thinking it may be a tooth infection but could that really happen that fast? Any ideas?

My cat breathes weird, as if she has a cold, but she's done that for most of her life. She also is pretty skinny and she doesn't let people pet her unless she's laying down. she eats and is active, chasing my other cat around. she hasn't been spayed yet, but she will soon. She's 4 years old. Can she have cancer?

Okay so I've had my cat for a few months, now, and I love him. He's so funny and cool. The thing is I can be away a lot for hours when I'm at work. If I happen to be at home, he wants to play, and I'm not always up for it. The thought of getting another cat has creeped into my head. However, I'm not really too keen on having to take care of two litter boxes, nor do I want to spend the money on taking care of two cats. Vets, food, etc, this stuff ads up. At the same time, I feel a little bad for my cat. Any advice?

I have a boy cat , and so my question is if I got another kitty for him to play with during the day would he spray everywhere?

Yes he is neutered already, but cats still spray their yucky territorial juice.

We took her to the vet and they said she had an upper respiratory infection and had to go on antibiotics, which could make her not want to eat and starve to death. She only weighs 1/2 a pound and even before she was put on the medicine would not eat. Now we have to force feed her. All she does is sleep on my lap, she looks so sick. They said she will probably die. Any tips on how she can get better? Please help me, I can't lose her.

My kitty Bill was so sweet and lovable when I adopted him at just a few months old. Now that he is a little over a year old his whole personality has changed. He bites me all the time, and it is not a hard bite but he claws along with that. Sometimes he knows better and just bats at me without his claws but he will rarely ever just come lay on my lap. He always sleeps on my bed by my feet when I go to sleep. If I am lucky I will catch him snuggling up to me at night. My b/f and I work fulltime so we are gone all day at work. What is his behavior displaying and is there a way to slowly fix it??

***I am having a baby soon and I don't want him to be mean, not that I would let the baby around him anyways.***

I live on a farm with many other cats and I found a stray yesterday. I wasn't really sure if he was friendly or not- so I tried to keep my distance and bring myself closer as time went by. Eventually I was able to bring him into our garage for the night with a few other cats (they didn't fight, but those were the few good ones).

I plan on keeping this cat, but I'm afraid if I let him outside he'll get in a fight with one of our others (it's happened several times- did happen a couple) and run away. I mean, we're surrounded by cornfields- once he's out there, he might not come back.

How should I help him be comfortable with his atmosphere (outside the garage)? How do I get all of the animals to get along?

My family and I don't want him inside though. Our location in the country is very safe for animals. We have a dog and she pretty much keeps every type of animal away.

Thanks in advance!
